Voorhees Theatre Company presents "Rent: School Edition"

(VOORHEES, NJ) -- Get ready to be emotionally touched in Voorhees Theatre Company’s rendition of this heart-rending and unforgettable production of Rent: School Edition. This is a show all about falling in love, finding your voice, being true to yourself, and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it has become a pop culture phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

(LINDEN, NJ) -- Mystic Vision Players, the resident theatre of Linden, is currently presenting Disney's High School Musical to the Linden stage. The play brings us back to East High School and the Romeo & Juliet story of budding romance in front of the footlights with direction by Howard Whitmore, choreography by LHS dance teacher, Barbara Brady, and music direction by Christynn Morris. A 1995 indie comedy about death has found new life as a musical. "The Last Supper" tells the story of a group of liberal grad students who decide to play judge, jury, and even executioner with conservative dinner guests. Adapted by Jeremy Desmon and Jeff Thomson, the show explores political extremism, punditry, and morality through bitingly dark humor.

Passaic County presents a Larry Doby Talk and Documentary

(PATERSON, NJ) -- In celebration of New Jersey Day (Wednesday, July 27), the County of Passaic, in partnership with Passaic County Community College, will present a talk and documentary film about the life of Baseball Hall of Famer Larry Doby at the college.
