The Theater Project presents "Finishing It Off!"


(MAPLEWOOD, NJ) -- Four actors play eight characters in twelve monologues showing the faces of eldercare: the families, the caregivers, the cared for, and the neglected. Finishing It Off! by Mary Jane Walsh, will be presented by The Theater Project, a leading incubator for rising talent and a showcase for New Jersey artists. Performances will be at the Burgdorff Cultural Center in Maplewood from July 7-17.
Growing Stage presents World Premiere of "Georgia Mae James Unplugs America"


(NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage, The Children’s Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre in Netcong, presents the world premiere production of Georgia Mae James Unplugs America by playwright Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder from July 9- 24. This production is under the direction of Stephen L. Fredericks, TGS’s Executive Director. This play is the 2021 Laurie Award Winner from The Growing Stage’s New Play-Reading Festival and reminds us that sometimes in order to feel connected, you have to unplug.
George Street Playhouse Honored Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Jocelyn Schwartzman, Lora Tremayne At Gala


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse (GSP) – Jocelyn Schwartzman, Lora Tremayne; and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation received the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award during George Street Playhouse’s Annual Gala on June 1, 2022. Dr. Richard Besser accepted the award on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The Awards were presented by New Jersey’s 48th Governor, the Honorable Thomas H. Kean.  
East Lynne Theater Company Accepting Applications For 16th Annual Student Workshop


(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Applications are available for the award-winning East Lynne Theater Company's 16th Annual Summer Student Workshop. For the last fifteen years, students have performed a variety of shows in front of enthusiastic audiences. Previous productions include "The Reluctant Dragon," "Alice in Wonderland," and "Story Theater." Like last year, it will be under the direction of Rob LeMaire. Assisting this year are Andrew Lofredo, and Gayle Stahlhuth.
Cape May Stage Announces Lineup For 2022 PNC Arts Alive Broadway Series


(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage has announced the 2022 line-up for the annual PNC Arts Alive Broadway Series, a trio of musical tribute performances celebrating beloved singers, influential genres, and Broadway tunes. These one-night-only concerts feature lauded performers and present a diverse array of musical styles. The series allows patrons and the Cape May community to experience world class, award-winning Broadway entertainers to Cape May, which in past years have included Lucie Arnaz, Jimmy Webb, Constantine Maroulis, and Adam Pascal to name a few.
TaNisha Fordham's New Musical to Have World Premiere In Newark


(NEWARK, NJ) -- TaNisha Fordham Productions in association with the City of Newark, announces the World Premiere of the new musical TaNisha Fordham’s Snatch Yo' Free, written, directed, musical production, produced by and starring this year’s American Express Directing Fellow, Broadway Theatre Coalition’s Directing Fellow, and the current Associate Director of the 5 Time Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical Company, TaNisha Fordham. As the city of Newark NJ’s 2nd annual Theater in the Park event this year’s musical production is free, open to the public, and continues to create access and a bridge to Broadway level productions right in the heart of Newark.  Performances take place July 22 & 29, August 5 & 12, 2022 at Mulberry Commons Park in front of the Prudential Center.
Shakespeare Theatre of NJ presents "Much Ado About Nothing" on the Outdoor Stage


(FLORHAM PARK, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) will re-open its ever-popular Outdoor Stage venue with performances of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing throughout July. Since 2002, the company’s annual productions at this Greek-style amphitheater, located on the bucolic campus of Saint Elizabeth University, have provided thousands of people throughout the region with delightful productions under the stars. As always, this summer’s show is a comedy and appropriate for all ages – from the youngest tots to venerable seniors.

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- On Thursday, June 23, the Axelrod Performing Arts Center held its annual Gala where they honored Axelrod Executive Board Member James Aaron and celebrated the mission of providing cultural arts to the community. The night was capped off by Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector performing with a 10-piece band in the Vogel Auditorium. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos of the performance.
Ocean Grove Is “All In” For Christian Pop/Rock and Praise Music This Summer


(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- In keeping with this season’s summer theme, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) is going “All In” with popular Christian Pop/Rock and Praise music starting on Saturday July 9th with Niah and Allisha Merrill, followed by the Sidewalk Prophets and Sanctus Real with Special Guest Dave Hinrich on Saturday July 16th.  On Saturday July 30, the “All In” Celebration and Praise Fest takes place from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Ocean Pathway and the Boardwalk Pavilion.
Ocean County Library Brick Branch presents Rhythm N’ Sound


(BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Sing, dance, and get your summer groove on with Rhythm N’ Sound during the group’s live performance, on Saturday, July 9 at 2:00pm.  The performance takes place at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch. The popular Jersey Shore trio will thrill concertgoers with an exciting, broad repertoire of rock ‘n roll, pop standards, classic rock, doo-wop, disco and Motown favorites.
Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association's "Summer Stars Classical Series" Presents Imperial Brass


(OCEAN GROVE) -- Ocean Grove’s ever-popular “Summer Stars Classical Series” kicks off on Thursday, July 5, 2022 with the renowned Imperial Brass, the NJ-based 28-piece brass ensemble founded in 1991 by Rutgers University alumni. Imperial Brass performs at 7:30pm in the Great Auditorium. Conducted by Ronald Waiksnoris, the program includes classical and contemporary works especially arranged for the ensemble. Guest soloists include Philip Smith (former principal trumpet, NY Philharmonic), and jazz great Warren Vaché.
The Wonder Bar presents Willie Nile on July 3rd


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Willie Nile returns to Asbury Park for a show at The Wonder Bar on Sunday, July 3rd at 8:00pm. He's touring in support of last summer's release, The Day the Earth Stood Still. While many of us struggled to salvage a sense of purpose from a year’s worth of isolation, the veteran New York rocker tapped into his own lockdown experience as a source of inspiration for the set of haunting new songs that comprise this emotion-charged release.
Jem Records to Celebrate Pete Townshend With New Compilation


Fifty years ago, an avid Who fan named Marty Scott and his two childhood friends from New Jersey began to sell records in their college dorms. They traveled to England after graduation and went searching to find a Who album that was not available in the USA. He realized there must be others who wanted it too. This was the start of importing rock albums by JEM Records. Carrying on through the 70's and 80's as the premier independent distribution and label group, Jem helped many labels get national distribution, broke artists via radio and retail, and released hundreds of albums.

Rock Against Hate Volume 4 Featuring NJ Artists Is Released


In a show of support for women’s right to choose, RockAgainstHate.org, released its fourth compilation on June 24, 2022 to raise funds for Planned Parenthood to voice their concern for the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The compilation, bringing together exclusive, previously unreleased songs from artists from New Jersey and around the world, is available to download for a donation of $10 or more at www.RockAgainstHate.org. All proceeds for Volume 4 go to Planned Parenthood.
38th Annual Giralda Farms Music & Arts Festival to Take Place on Sunday


(MADISON, NJ) -- Enjoy an evening of music and arts at the 38th Annual Giralda Farms Music & Arts Festival on Sunday, June 26. This outdoor concert will feature the New Jersey Symphony with a pre-show performance by Chico Alvarez & the Palomonte Afro-Cuban Big Band — all on the beautiful lawns of Giralda Farms (Route 124 and Dodge Drive) in Madison.  Symphony Concert starts at 6:00pm; pre-show performance starts at 4:30pm.

Ocean County Library Toms River Branch presents "Paintings and Pours" by Jenna M. Yurga in July


(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Toms River Branch hosts “Paintings and Pours: My Return to Art,” by Jenna Meyerberg-Yurga, during the month of July. The exhibit, which will be displayed in the McConnell Gallery, is Jenna’s gallery debut. It consists of abstract paintings created primarily by acrylic pour techniques.

Ramapo College Engineering Physics Student Chosen for Competitive Sustainability Studies Program


(MAHWAH, NJ) -- Ramapo College student Prithivi Rana ’23, an engineering physics major in the School of Theoretical and Applied Science, has been selected to be a participant in the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies’ (PSEG ISS) Green Teams program. The program, now in its seventh year, is held each summer with students in various disciplines from colleges and universities across the country. This year’s program is being held on the campus of Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, N.J.
Princeton Public Library presents NJ Storytelling Network


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Members of the New Jersey Storytelling Network will present a program of stories Friday, July 8 at 6:00pm in Pettoranello Gardens at Community Park North, 20 Mountain Ave., Princeton. On Saturday, June 25th, the County of Passaic, Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc, and MegaBite Events hosted another Food Truck Festival – this year’s theme was the Northern New Jersey Empanadas. The event took place at Weasel Brook Park in Clifton, New Jersey.  It featured approximately 20 food trucks and vendors along with offerings of New Jersey craft beer, wine, hard seltzers and soft drinks as well.
