Middletown Arts Center Presents "The Marvelous Wonderettes"


(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The MAC PLAYERS at the Middletown Arts Center presents the smash, Off-Broadway hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes, written and created by Roger Bean, on Friday, July 8 at 7:00pm, Saturday, July 9 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and Sunday, July 10 at 2:00pm. Featuring over thirty classic songs from the ‘50s and ‘60s, this delightful jukebox comedy is a must-take musical trip down memory lane! Director/Choreographer Kathy Connolly and Musical Director Nicholas Jupinka lead the cast of Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: Springfield High Songleaders with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts.

(OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Can a twice divorced songwriter find love and happiness? Maybe a performing monkey from his Las Vegas extravaganza can show him the way. Find out when Jonathan Brielle Holtzman’s semi-autobiographical musical comedy, A Monkey and Me: Stories I Never Told My Mother premieres at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center from June 24-26, starring five-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Flanders New Jersey native singer-songwriter Lauren Onufryk released her debut album "Shifted Perspective" in June under her stage name ren. Lauren graduated from Mount Olive High School and is a sophomore at the University of California Irvine (UCI). She wrote and recorded the EP in her dorm room between classes and studying.
Evil Nature Releases Debut Full-Length Album


Evil Nature is a post punk creation headed by New Jersey singer/bassist Dasher Hammet. The band released their debut full-length album How and When to Prune Roses on June 21, 2022 on all streaming services. The story of the band begins inside the heart of the legendary recording studio Big Blue Meenie in Jersey City - the place where bands like Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Bouncing Souls, Mighty Mighty Bosstone, Agnostic Front, and many more were creating their best work.

SOPAC presents Laughs in the Loft on July 6th


(SOUTH ORANGE) -- On the first Wednesday of every month, the Loft at South Orange Performance Arts Center (SOPAC) turns into a comedy club during this New York City-style stand-up showcase hosted by Joe Larson. The next Laughs in the Loft performance is Wednesday, July 6 at 7:30pm. The lineup includes Jason Salmon, KC Arora, Sharon Simon, and Mike Earley. Tickets are $20.

Climate Action Billboard Project Seeks Proposals


(KEARNY, NJ) -- The static billboard at the corner of Hackensack Drive and Route 1-9 in Kearny NJ is open to proposals! Gardenship and Kearny Point invites artists all over New Jersey to create a design that highlights issues around climate change, climate justice, and climate equity. Artists/Individuals/Organizations doing work in this area, especially those of diverse backgrounds, working locally to address climate issues, are highly encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is July 5, 2022.

Middlesex County and the Borough of Highland Park announce completion of two playgrounds at Donaldson Park


(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios met with Mayor Gayle Brill Mittler along with officials from Middlesex County and the Borough of Highland Park on June 22 to visit the two reconstructed playgrounds located in Donaldson Park. The on-site meeting culminates the efforts, led by Mayor Gayle Brill Mittler as well as County officials, to improve and repair damage done to the park by Hurricane Ida.
