PHOTOS from "Cobb" at The Lord Stirling Theater Company


(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- The Lord Stirling Theater Company presents "Cobb" in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center weekends from June 17-26. The play by Lee Blessing examines the character of controversial baseball legend Ty Cobb at three different stages of his life. Photographer John Posada took photos of the play during a dress rehearsal.
Neil LaBute's "How To Fight Loneliness" to Receive Staged Reading at Black Box PAC


(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Black Box Performing Arts Center, a 501c3 non profit organization, will host a special fundraiser evening featuring a staged reading of the new play How to Fight Loneliness by Neil LaBute.  The special event takes place on Saturday, June 25 at 8:00pm.

Pale Waves to Release Album and Have Shows in NY/NJ Area


(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Ahead of kicking off their tour opening for 5 Seconds of Summer, the pop-punk band Pale Waves released their new song “Reasons To Live” from their upcoming album Unwanted, out August 12 via Dirty Hit. The tour comes to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Sunday, July 10 before heading to Pier 17 in New York City for shows on July 12-13.
Violinist Timothy Shi wins New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra's Henry Lewis Concerto Competition


(NEWARK, NJ) -- Violinist Timothy Shi has won the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra’s 2022 Henry Lewis Concerto Competition. Shi will join the New Jersey Symphony to perform the first movement of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K. 216, at the Symphony’s outdoor summer concerts, June 24–July 2 in venues across the state.
Frantic City shares Opening Night Party Lineup


(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The new Atlantic City music festival Frantic City has shared details of the event’s official opening night party on Friday, September 23 at Bourré at 8:00pm. Performers include Samiam, who will also perform the next day at the main event, as well as New Jersey natives The Ergs and Night Birds. The night will be hosted by comedian Natalie Cuomo.

Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company presents The Bridge June 20/22


(FORT LEE, NJ) -- In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company has established a new dance institute through Zoom, The Bridge.  The Institute’s aim is to bring together dancers, choreographers and directors around the world to experience the master teachers of color whose practices are embedded in the community and are focused on advancing the art of dance that transform the personal, environmental and metaphysical spaces.

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the upcoming season of The Gallery at Paper Mill in the Renee Foosaner Art Gallery. The four exhibitions have been designed to thematically compliment the theater’s mainstage productions, and there will be a separate open call for each show.

Paula Abreu Named New Director of Special Programming at McCarter


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Following the previously announced decision by Bill Lockwood to step down from the role of Special Programming Director earlier this year, McCarter welcomes Paula Abreu who will begin to work with the theater’s Artistic team this summer, joining the company full-time in September 2022.
Carteret Awards Bid for Phase I of Ferry Terminal


(CARTERET, NJ) -- The Borough awarded the bid today for Phase I of the Carteret Ferry Terminal – bulkhead installation, including 131 linear feet of permanent sheeting “bulkhead” with a steel cap and aluminum gangway – to Agate Construction of Clemont, NJ, clearing the way for construction to begin on Carteret’s Ferry Terminal. Agate submitted the lowest bid of six total bids submitted for the project, in the amount of $473,258.

Baraka launched a housing locator site, NewarkHousingSearch.com on June 16,  which enables prospective tenants to find affordable housing in the City of Newark, completely free of charge through detailed listings. The site offers users the ability to search listings along a variety of potential details including photographs, size and type of bedrooms, rental costs, eligibility requirements, special needs, neighborhood, ward, seniors only, distance from public transportation, on-site amenities, neighborhood services such as hospitals and schools and other useful information.
