Moving and Rousing Story of the ‘Freedom Riders’ of 1961


In the spring of 1961, hundreds of young people, black and white, boarded buses in the north headed for cities in the South to protest segregation on buses that had been outlawed by the courts but still used all over the southern states to discriminate against blacks.
The Summit Playhouse to present "The Addams Family" and "Spring Awakening" in July


(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse will present The Adams Family (July 7-10) and Spring Awakening (July 22-31) this summer. They will be asking all patrons to wear a mask during performances.
The Words, Wit, and Life of Dorothy Parker Take the Stage at East Lynne Theater


“I’m not a writer with a drinking problem, I’m a drinker with a writing problem.” Dorothy Parker may be best known for the quotes that have long outlived her, but there was far more to the legendary writer than just her wit. Her life is celebrated and her work comes alive in East Lynne Theater Company’s production of “Dorothy Parker: A Certain Woman.” The play runs from June 15 through July 23 at The Cape May Presbyterian Church where the company is in residence.
Praise the Lord: The Nuns Battle the Mob in "Sister Act"


Singer Deloris Van Cartier accidentally sees her boyfriend, Philadelphia mobster Curtis Jackson, murder a man in his office in front of his fellow gangsters. She runs to police headquarters, where she meets old high school friend Lt. Eddie “sweaty Eddie” Souther, who had a crush on her back then. He needs her to testify against Curtis, but knows she might be killed before the trial. The cop has got to hide her and selects, of all places, a local convent that might soon close with its church. He reasons that the nuns will protect her. The good Lord will protect her. Who could ever find her in a convent?
East Lynne Theater Company presents its 33rd Year of "Tales of the Victorians"

Museum Of Light Releases Debut Album "Horizon"


Seattle, WA's Museum of Light has released its debut album 'Horizon' via Spartan Records. The trio (which notably includes Rob Smith of Traindodge fame on drums) expertly balances the opposing worlds of heavy and ambient music; Equal parts big, crushing, overwhelmingly heavy riffs and dreamy, Zen-like washes of ambience and found sound.
Sean Tobin and the Boardwalk Fire Releases "Ghost of the Arcade"


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Sean Tobin and the Boardwalk Fire has released their third full-length album: Ghost of the Arcade, as well as a new music video for the title track. The album will be celebrated with three consecutive release shows in New Hope, Asbury Park, and Jersey City on June 23rd, 24th, and 25th respectively.

2022 New Jersey International Film Festival Winners Announced!


We had a very good New Jersey International Film Festival this year. It was nice to be able to do in-person screenings again as well as having a line going out the door with large audiences. I want to thank the thousands of viewers who attended virtually or in person and also thank Gary Wien of New Jersey Stage  for sponsoring our Festival again too!  All the works that were part of the 2022 New Jersey International Film Festival Competition were selected by a panel of judges including media professionals, journalists, students, and academics. These judges selected the 29 finalists which were publicly screened at our Festival. The finalists were selected from 667 works submitted by filmmakers from around the world. In addition, the judges chose the Prize Winners in conjunction with the Festival Director.
