Three-time Grammy-nominated kid rocker Brady Rymer will drop his next album, “That Friday Feeling,” on June 17. The title track single is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “That Friday Feeling” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on June 3 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you also can tune in any time at The Penguin or at Mixcloud.

The song was inspired by an Instagram post featuring Emmeline, a young Brady fan from London who loves scootering around town with her mom. Last Spring, Emmeline was zooming along, singing, and turning heads as she passed people by. A man turned to her mom, and with a big smile said, “She sure has that Friday feeling.”

Brady explains, “I was struck by that phrase, and I heard this song right then in my head. I knew it was the title track and theme for the new album: finally, it was time to bust back out into the world and spread that joyful ‘Friday Feeling’ all over town!”

Directed by longtime collaborator Glen Hoffman, the video features kids getting “That Friday Feeling”: Emmeline scootering through London and sisters Alinah and Aniston romping in a sunny Las Vegas park.

Meanwhile, Brady whoops it up with his backing unit, the Little Band That Could, on a colorful, whimsical Brooklyn soundstage straight out of an ‘80s sitcom!

Brady will do just that live July 8 at Celebrate the Children School, Denville; July 12, Mitchell Park, Greenport, NY; July 15, Hauppauge Library, Hauppauge, NY; July 20, Levitt Pavilion, Westport, CT; July 26, Village Green; Westhampton Beach, NY, and Aug 2, Heckscher Park, Huntington, NY. From Aug 19-21, the inspirational Emmeline hopefully will get to see Brady at the UK’s Just So Festival.

When he isn’t makin his own kid rock, Brady holds down the rhythm for fellow Jersey-raised children’s artist Laurie Berkner. And, of course, he is the founding bassist of the legendary Jersey roots-rock band From Good Homes with whom he’ll tour soon in support of a documentary about the band entitled , “Charlie Loves Our Band,” that includes an interview with me.
