Centenary Stage Company Is Accepting Applications For 2022-23 Artistic Internship Program

Two River Theater Announces 2022-23 Season


(RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater has announced an exciting theatrical season for 2022-23 featuring world premiere work as well as plays with some of American theater’s most lauded talents. Artistic Director John Dias says, “Each of these plays centers on artwork: painting, sculpture, poetry, or music and celebrates the transformative power of art to provoke and stimulate, to make us laugh and rejoice, to help us grieve and heal, but mostly to bring us together to affirm our common humanity.”
The Grand Theatre hosts 2nd Annual Juneteenth Arts Celebration


(WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ) -- The Grand Theatre will be hosting their second annual Juneteenth arts Celebration June 17-18, 2022. It includes an original stage play, "Papa May Have" by Ty Lewis of Pleasantville and an arts reception and awards ceremony honoring 3 black men who are excelling the arts. A folk Artist, a teacher/choreographer and a Arthur. The night will feature singers, dancers, musicians, actors, painters, chefs and bakers.

The Zappa Band Launches First Headlining Tour with Shows in NY/NJ


(NEWTON, NJ) -- One of the most ground-breaking, original, and fearless figures of popular music was undoubtedly the legendary Frank Zappa. And paying tribute to his late icon is The Zappa Band – a group largely comprised of former members of Frank’s bands. And for the first time ever, the group (who had previously opened a string of shows for prog greats King Crimson) will be headlining their own tour for much of June – including dates at Sony Hall in New York City on June 16th and The Newton Theatre in Newton, NJ on June 18th. 
Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association Presents The Atlantic Wind Ensemble: "We Remember"


(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association  (OGCMA) presents The Atlantic Wind Ensemble: "We Remember" with a free concert on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 7:30pm in The Great Auditorium. The evening features Patriotic/Military Anthems, Popular Marches and Americana. The performance kicks off the 153rd summer season of shows.

2022 Jersey City Jazz Festival


(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Jersey City Jazz Festival is back for a two-day celebration the weekend of June 4th and 5th in the Powerhouse Arts District. The free-to-the-public annual event will feature fourteen bands on two stages, food trucks, a full bar, and a VIP experience at the 107 Morgan Street lot in Jersey City. The event is produced by the Jersey City-based non-profit Riverview Jazz and presented by Exchange Place Alliance. The 2022 festival will coincide with another beloved annual event - Bike JC’s Ward Tour, Sunday, June 5th, which will culminate at this year’s jazz festival. There will also be an after-party jam session at Moore’s Place on Monticello Ave.  
Sophia Agranovich to Perform at Watchung Arts Center


(WATCHUNG, NJ) -- Award-winning pianist, recording artist and educator Sophia Agranovich will perform a solo recital, sponsored by the Watchung Arts Center, on Saturday, June 4 at 8:00pm. The program will feature Fantasie in F-Sharp Minor (Sonate ecossaise), Études and other works by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Liszt, Schubert/Liszt and Debussy.

West Windsor Arts presents Faculty Student Show


(PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ) -- The Faculty Student Show at West Windsor Arts will celebrate the work of teaching artists and their students created in a class or workshop at WWAC during the Fall, Winter, or Spring sessions of the 2021-2022 class year.  The exhibition runs now through July 9th. Each year WWA honors its talented teaching artists and the outstanding work created by its students, both youth and adults, by showcasing their work in a culminating exhibition, the Faculty Student Art Show. 
Art629 Gallery presents "Pride"


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- art629 Gallery will be hosting a pride month exhibition which will be on display from June 4th through the 4th of July weekend. This exhibition, titled “Pride” will feature 13 LGBTQIA+ and ally artists. In honor of NJ Pride Month and in commemoration of the 53rd anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, an event which helped spark the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, we will be showcasing art in a variety of media that represents the culture of the LGBTQIA+ community. Some of the art celebrates the love, fun and enjoyment to be found within the community, and some brings awareness to the persecution and suffering they face.
Jersey City Free Public Library hosts "Far East" Exhibition


(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Jersey City Public Library celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May. Originating in 1977. Artists were invited to submit works in which they interpret the “Far East” theme and join in paying tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America's history and are instrumental in its future success.

Arts Ed NJ Executive Director Robert Morrison To Be Honored at NJ Governor's Awards in Arts Education


(TRENTON, NJ) -- Arts Ed NJ Executive Director Robert Morrison will be among this year’s recipients of the prestigious New Jersey Governor’s Awards in Arts Education, the state’s highest honor in the arts field. Morrison will be recognized with the “Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Arts Education” Award and joins 100 New Jersey students and 15 educators who will earn the spotlight at the 42nd annual awards ceremony, to be held Thursday, May 26 at Patriot’s Theatre at the War Memorial in Trenton, beginning at 4:00pm. The event is free and open to the public.  
McCarter Theatre Brings Back In-Person 2022 GALA after 2 Years’ Hiatus

Ramapo College Student Robert Ciarletta Awarded Prestigious Arlene Gardner Distinguished Scholar Award by the NJ Council for the Social Studies


(MAHWAH, NJ) -- Ramapo College student Robert Ciarletta ‘24, of Park Ridge, NJ, has received statewide prestige for his undergraduate research and scholarship on the American Revolution. Ciarletta was recently awarded the Arlene Gardner Distinguished Scholar Award by the New Jersey Council for the Social Studies. Ciarletta’s research was sponsored by the New Jersey Historical Commission for the semiquincentennial anniversary of the American Revolution.
