Two River Celebrates A Special Evening to Launch Dias/Hurst New Musical Development Fund


(RED BANK, NJ) -- Theater enthusiasts are invited to join Two River Theater Founder and Event Chair Joan Rechnitz on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in celebrating the launch of the ‘Dias/Hurst New Musical Fund’ in honor of Two River Theater’s outgoing leaders John Dias, Artistic Director, and Michael Hurst, Managing Director. 
A Special Reading of "Whittier," New Docudrama by TyLie Shider, Inaugural Playwright in ArtYard Artist Residency Program


This Saturday, May 21, theatergoers are invited to join ArtYard in Frenchtown for a reading of Whittier, a new docudrama by TyLie Shider. Whittier is a neighborhood in Minneapolis, close to where the murder of George Floyd took place. Shider’s new play follows residents of Whittier grappling with that tragedy, as well as the stresses of life during the lockdown of 2020. A playwright, poet, and journalist, TyLie Shider is also the inaugural playwright in ArtYard’s artist residency program, curated by Deonté Griffin-Quick. We spoke with Shider, Quick, and director Andrew Binger about bringing Whittier to the stage.

Bill Burr Announces Shows in 25 cities for 2nd Leg of Tour


A Grammy-nominated comedian, Bill Burr is one of the top comedic voices of his generation achieving success in TV and film as well as on stage.  Bill sells out venues internationally and his Monday Morning Podcast is one of the most downloaded comedy podcasts.  He's just announced the second leg of his Bill Burr (Slight Return) tour, produced by Live Nation, which will visit 25 cities starting on September 8th through December 17th. The closest he will come to New Jersey is a show at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on September 16, 2022.

iPlay America Names DeLuca Food and Beverage Director

SOPAC Receives $5,000 Grant from Investors Foundation


(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- The South Orange Performing Arts Center recently received a $5,000 grant from the Investors Foundation. The grant will help further SOPAC’s Arts Education Programs, which invest in students and future artists by providing arts instruction in alignment with NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards for the Performing Arts, enhancing the arts curriculum in local school districts.
Passaic County presents a Virtual Talk on the Importance of Historic Preservation in NJ


It’s the 50th anniversary of the Van Riper Hopper House being added to the National Register of Historic Places and the NJ Register of Historic Places. Come celebrate this anniversary and National Preservation Month with Passaic County.  On Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, guest speaker Andrea Tingey (from NJ Historic Preservation Office) will share with us the importance of historic preservation and how these lists preserve, protect, and promote New Jersey's historic resources in a free online talk. 
MPAC presents Free Concerts & Movies This Summer


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) returns its summer Arts in the Community concerts and movies to various locations in Morristown, including Cauldwell Park, the Early Street Senior Center and the Vail Mansion Plaza (adjacent to MPAC). All events are free.
