Craig Lucas to Host Q&A with Beth Henley at Black Box PAC on May 22nd


(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Black Box PAC's 2022 Save Our Stages season continues with the world premiere production of Exposed by Beth Henley. The show runs at The Black Box Performing Arts Center - 49 East Palisade Avenue in Englewood, NJ - now through Saturday May 28. On Sunday, May 22nd, Ms. Henley - who collaborated during rehearsals with the creative team via Zoom from the West Coast - will participate in a live-and-in-person Q&A session after the show. The Q&A will be moderated by the renowned 2022 Tony Nominee Craig Lucas, whose play Ode to Joy received its NJ Premiere at BBPAC this February to rave reviews!

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre presents Steve Hackett: Genesis Revisited, Seconds Out, & more on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 8:00pm. Hackett, an immensely talented and innovative rock musician, was lead guitarist with the group Genesis. Featuring Richie Cannata on tenor saxophone, Liberty DeVito on drums and Russell Javors on rhythm guitar, The Lords of 52nd Street are the musicians who performed with Billy Joel in the 1970s and 1980s and were heard on albums such as The Stranger, 52nd Street, Glass Houses and The Nylon Curtain. The Lords perform at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC), Friday, June 10 at 8:00pm. Tedeschi Trucks Band To Return To Beacon Theatre For Seven Shows


(NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) has announced that Tedeschi Trucks Band will make their highly-anticipated annual return to the Beacon Theatre this fall. The 12-piece rock and soul collective led by singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks will play seven nights in New York – September 29 & 30; October 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8 – as part of their multi-year, dual city residency with MSG Entertainment, which also includes annual shows at The Chicago Theatre.

The Parker Family Legacy Room at T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center Opens with New Exhibit "Ancestral Ascension"


(RED BANK, NJ) -- In celebration of the 3rd Anniversary of the opening of the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center, the non-profit Foundation, announces the opening of the Parker Family Legacy Room to honor a family of doctors, dentists, and educators, who were the vanguard of Black pride and upstanding civic leaders in the Red Bank community for over 80 years.  Ancestral Ascension, a permanent exhibit, tells the story of enslaved people, who ascended to unprecedented heights.  The exhibit opens to the public on Memorial Day weekend, May 28.

Mayor Baraka and Saint Elizabeth University President Crosby Announce Students Selected for Guaranteed Education Pilot Program that will Provide them with Opportunity to Obtain a Debt-Free College Education


(NEWARK, NJ) -- At a City Hall press event on May 9th, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka joined with Saint Elizabeth University (SEU) President Gary B. Crosby, Ph.D.; members of the Newark Municipal Council; Newark Board of Education Superintendent Roger León; New Jersey Deputy Secretary of Higher Education Kathleen Comanto, to introduce the Newark students selected for the Guaranteed Education Pilot Program. Through this program, the City of Newark's Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery and The Brick City Peace Collective, in partnership with Saint Elizabeth University, will support 40 at-risk students by providing a debt-free four-year college education through a $1 million grant from the City of Newark, led by Mayor Baraka.
Princeton Public Library Adds Nature Explorer Backpacks for Adults to Library of Things


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Adults considering hiking as a way to get outdoors, enjoy nature and get some exercise can borrow a backpack featuring basic essentials and more from Princeton Public Library. Eight backpacks for adults have been added to the Library of Things collection of nontraditional circulating library items available to borrow. In addition, six more backpacks for youth have been added to the collection, bringing the total available to borrow to 12.

United Passaic Organizations hosts National Community Action Month kick-off on May 21st

The community-based event will take place at the courtyard of the UPO Community Hub at 1 Howe Avenue in Passaic from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. As part of the celebration, the City of Passaic's Mayor Hector C. Lora will present UPO with an official proclamation to make May Community Action Month in the City.
