Pegasus Theatre Company Announces 2022-23 Season

(BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- Artistic Directors Peter Bisgaier and Jennifer Nasta Zefutie are thrilled to welcome audiences back to a new space in a new town and to the most ambitious season Pegasus Theatre Company has ever offered.

Pegasus’s 2022-2023 season will kick off with the Tony and Olivier Award-winning hit comedy God of Carnage by acclaimed, French playwright Yasmina Reza.  With translation by Christopher Hampton and direction by Peter Bisgaier, God of Carnage will run October 7-23, 2022.  In this Broadway and international sensation, two sets of parents meet to discuss how to handle a playground altercation between their sons.  Over the course of the night, tensions rise, biases are revealed, and the parents’ true humanity (or lack thereof) rises to the surface, resulting in what The New York Times called “ninety minutes of laughter that comes from the gut.”

For the holidays, Pegasus will offer its very first family-friendly production Murray the Elf, and the Case of the Missing Mistletoe by Bill D’Agostino. Also directed by Peter Bisgaier, it will be offered December 2-23, 2022.  In addition to Murray's duties helping Santa at a local mall, Murray is on-call as a detective in Santa’s Toyland.  When Mrs. Claus calls Murray to the North Pole, he must solve a holiday heist in order to save Christmas.  This enchanting, holiday show will charm and delight audience members, young and old alike.

Next in the line-up is Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison. Directed by Jennifer Nasta Zefutie, this 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist will be offered February 17-March 5, 2023.  Marjorie Prime takes us into the not-too-distant future of artificial intelligence.  Marjorie—a jumble of disparate, fading memories—has a handsome, young companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her, while her daughter and son-in-law struggle to define just what Marjorie should be allowed to remember.  As the years progress, this “elegant, thoughtful, and quietly unsettling drama” (The New York Times) explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits, if any, of what technology can replace.

Finally, Pegasus will round out its season with a touching and funny play that they’re not allowed to announce just yet.  This final play will run May 12-28, 2023 and will be directed by Bordentown resident, Jonathan Martin.
