Sitcom Scribe Ken Levine Up Next in Mark Riccadonna's Stage for Comedy at Black Box PAC


(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Stand up mainstay Mark Riccadonna's Stage for Comedy, currently a monthly Tuesday night event at The Black Box PAC, is a development series for writers designed to launch new (and under produced) pieces for stage or screen with dynamic script-in-hand performances presented live onstage by professional actors and directors. On May 10th at 7:30pm, the East Coast premiere reading of Ken Levine's What Is Murder? is on tap, a hysterical farce from the writer of sit-com classics such as 'MASH', 'CHEERS', 'FRASIER', and 'THE SIMPSONS'.

Morris Choral Society to present Spring Concert on May 15th


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morris Choral Society concludes its season with a grand finale concert “Americana” on Sunday May 15 at 3:00pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 131 Mountain Way, Morris Plains, New Jersey. The concert will feature important works by two major American composers: Randall Thompson and Aaron Copeland.

That's no question at all, especially with NoCap who was one of the artists that I've looked up to for quite some time and as I was growing up," stated 19-year old hip-hop/rap artist Mpackt as he discussed his role on NoCap's "Mr. Crawford Tour," his lyrics, source of musical talent and an upcoming May 2 show at New York's Grammercy Theatre. "My mom died in 2019 and his music kind of reached out to me and helped me through some hard times."
Jim Messina Headlines Rock, Ribs & Ridges Festival Before Reuniting with Kenny Loggins


(AUGUSTA, NJ) -- From being a founding member of the seminal band credited with creating Country Rock to being one-half of one of the most successful duos in American pop rock, Jim Messina is an undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music. Messina will headline the 12th annual Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ on June 26. It’s his only New Jersey performance, tickets are on sale now. He will then reunite with Kenny Loggins as they play their first show at the famed Hollywood Bowl in 50 years.
NJPAC to Celebrate International Jazz Day with Free Performances by Over 100 Young Musicians


(NEWARK, NJ) --  The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will present a free musical celebration in honor of International Jazz Day on Saturday, April 30 at 5:00pm featuring performances by 100+ young New Jersey musicians with special guest Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. Co-produced by NJPAC, City Verses, and Jazz House Kids, this popular concert unites youth musicians from NJPAC’s City Verses jazz and poetry initiative, NJPAC’s Jazz for Teens ensembles featuring James Moody Jazz Orchestra and The George Wein Scholars Ensemble, JAZZ HOUSE Big Band, and local high schools. Hosted by WBGO Radio’s Sheila Anderson aka “Queen of the Hang”, International Jazz Day in Newark highlights the power of jazz as a force for freedom and creativity, promotes intercultural dialogue through respect and understanding, and unites people from all corners of the globe.

Trenton City Museum Presents Mastering Alchemy: Works on Copper by Stephen Bruce


(TRENTON, NJ) – Metal patination artist and educator Stephen Bruce will have his first major exhibition at the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie from May 7 to 29, 2022. The California artist uses different acidic solutions to etch sheets of copper or brass into earth-toned abstract paintings that conjure the power and serenity of water, earth, and sky. Bruce’s seascapes are inspired by aerial views of the oceans. His abstracts evoke the colors and patterns of geological formations. His landscapes capture ineffable moments in a sunset, a sunrise, or on the horizon.

Monmouth County Park System to hold Great Spring Perennial Plant Swap


​​​​​​​(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System will host its Great Spring Perennial Plant Swap on Saturday, May 7 at Tatum Park, 151 Red Hill Road, Middletown.  Gardeners are invited to bring established plants in one-quart, one-gallon or two-gallon containers and take home the same size and number of plants.  Please label all plants.  Herb and vegetable seedlings are allowed for an equivalent exchange.  Please no aggressively spreading plants. Invasive plants are not accepted.  Visit the Deep Cut Gardens page on the Park System’s website for a list of plants that will not be accepted.

Ocean County Library to Host Author Carol Neugebauer


(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Tuckerton Branch will present a live program featuring noted New Jersey artist Carol Neugebauer on Monday, May 16 at 7:00pm. Carol will sign copies of her newly-published debut book, Love Letters from the Lord. The Ocean County resident and Rowan University alumna wrote and illustrated the volume of inspirational passages, which are greatly influenced by a lifelong love of nature that also informs her watercolors, gouache, and acrylics.
