(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center presents a singer-songwriter showcase on Sunday, April 24 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The event features performances by Carl Alderson, Michael Askin, Shotgun Bill Anania and Tommy Q. The concert will take place in the MAC’s theater. The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.

CARL ALDERSON - Carl will sing some songs and answer your questions. Gardening tips, Solenoid versus starter, best Youtube videos to fix the ol' Kenmore. If you are just reading this you've missed the pea planting window again.

MICHAEL ASKIN - a singer-songwriter with the unique ability to combine everyday, slice of life images with larger philosophical themes. Once the “guitarist with mystique” in such Jersey rock bands as Divine Sign and My State of Attraction, Michael has forged ahead as a solo artist, releasing his third EP, "Road by the River”, in 2017. A travelogue of sorts, “Road by the River” evokes images of a world weary traveler, criss-crossing the country by car and train, searching for who knows what.

SHOTGUN BILL ANANIA - Shotgun Bill is......Bill Anania. He considers himself a late bloomer singer/songwriter. Playing and living in Monmouth County, NJ, you'll find him performing at events and venues in this area. He has worked with Frank Patrouch in "Frank and Bill" since 2012. Together they released 3 CD projects, Frank Patrouch "Whiskey and Revenge", Frank & Bill "One Good Line" and "Unplugged and Uncouth”. In 2016, he also released his first solo CD, "The B-Sides”, and in the summer of 2017, he released his second solo project, "Train Cars, Prison Bars ...and a White Guitar”, working with his friend Scott "Tango Kid" Yetka. His next album, "Shotgun Bill with the Tango Kid - Lonesome Cowboys”, was released in April 2019. During the pandemic they released the “Quarantined" EP. The summer of 2021 saw the release of their fifth project, "Shotgun Bill with the Tango Kid - Lack of Luxury".

TOMMY Q. (TOM QUATTROCCHI) - Born and raised in Brooklyn, Tom moved to New Jersey in his teenage years. Influenced by his older brother’s love of music, he became a fan of Bob Dylan and started playing the guitar. Tom became a husband, father and worked as a mailman for 34 years. In his free time, he became a National Race-walker Champion and continued playing guitar. After retirement, Tom became a personal trainer, dabbled in acting and then started playing open mics in 2012. Here, he discovered his voice and began writing his own songs which were heavily influenced by Bob Dylan. He now runs a showcase at Bigly’s in Metuchen, First Cup in Atlantic Highlands and at the Fifty-five and over community he where he lives. He continues to write music and sing at open mikes around New Jersey.
