NJ Rep offers Free Stream of "Blue Bench" for two weeks


(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company presents Blue Bench, an eerie tale by Aleks Merilo. Directed by Joel Stone and starring Max Arnaud and AJ Melnick, the production will be available for free on Vimeo and at NJrep.org for two weeks starting April 25.
WACO Theater Center, Newark Symphony Hall to Stream Virtual “Meet the Creators” of Black Terror Panel on April 19th


(LOS ANGELES, CA) --  WACO Theater Center, in partnership with Newark Symphony Hall and Yendor Theatre Company, will be hosting Meet the Creators, a virtual conversation between longtime collaborators Richard Lawson, an actor and the co-artistic director of WACO, and Richard Wesley, dramatist, writer and associate professor of dramatic writing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. The conversation will stream live on April 19 at 8:00pm EST.  
Mercer County Community College Academic Theatre and Dance Company Presents "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the Kelsey Theatre


(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) --  The Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Academic Theatre and Dance Company will present "The Diary of Anne Frank” April 22-24 at the Kelsey Theatre located on the college’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A special performance will take place Saturday, April 23 at 8:30pm to benefit the Mercer County Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education Center.
Lewis Center for the Arts presents "Athens, Georgia" - a rock musical by Paul Muldoon


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts presents a platform performance of Athens, Georgia, a new rock musical based on the ancient Greek play The Frogs by Aristophanes, with music composed by Tony Award-winner Stew and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paul Muldoon. The performance will be on Wednesday, April 20 at 4:30pm in the Hearst Dance Theater on the Princeton campus. It will feature Princeton students from the spring Atelier course of the same name, as well as guest appearances by Tyquan Malik White as Little Richard and Roman Banks as Chuck Berry. 
George Street Playhouse Appoints Nadiyah S. Dorsey as new Director of Education

Conrad Tao plays Tchaikovsky and performs own work with New Jersey Symphony


(NEWARK, NJ) -- Pianist Conrad Tao joins the New Jersey Symphony for Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto and the East Coast premiere of his own Spoonfuls for Piano and Orchestra, April 28–May 1. Jader Bignamini conducts the program, which also features Shostakovich’s Ninth Symphony.
The Flaming Lips to perform at Wellmont Theater

Inside SOPAC's Laughs in the Loft for May 4th


(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Cackle, giggle, snicker, chuckle—however you like to laugh, these comedians will have you cracking up. Settle in for an evening of side-splitting comedy during SOPAC’s monthly Laughs in the Loft stand-up series. Hosted by local comedian Joe Larson, each show features several comedians in a New York City-style showcase. Laughs in the Loft is held every first Wednesday of the month. The next performance is Wednesday, May 4 at 7:30pm.  The lineup includes Emma Willmann, Ryan Reiss, Liz Glazer, and Howie Dewey. Tickets are $20.
Tracy Morgan Receives 2022 Garden of Dreams Hero Award


(NEW YORK, NY) -- The Garden of Dreams Foundation has awarded legendary actor and comedian Tracy Morgan the 2022 Garden of Dreams Hero Award. Established in 2009, the annual Hero Award honors organizations or individuals that embody the spirit of the Garden of Dreams Foundation through an active and ongoing dedication to positively impacting the lives of children facing obstacles, while serving as a driving force and inspiration for others. NY Giants legend Carl Banks and Former NY Knicks star Allan Houston presented Morgan, a lifelong Knicks fan, with the award onstage at the 2022 Garden of Dreams Talent Show, which took place April 13th at Radio City Music Hall.

The New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund Awards More Than $500,000 in Grants

This free, hybrid festival – in-person and online – is a branch of the beautiful and emblematic Sant Jordi Book Festival, born in Barcelona and devoted to Saint George the dragonslayer. RWJBarnabas Health Executive to Speak at RVCC Commencement
