Algonquin Arts Theatre announces Cast and Creative for "Into The Woods"


(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for its spring production of Into the Woods. The musical will run at Algonquin Arts Theatre from Saturday, May 7 through Sunday, May 22. It is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales set in a musical format.
"Life’s Work" To Premiere at Vivid Stage


(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present a world premiere production of Life’s Work by Laura Ekstrand from April 21 through May 1. This is a new play by Vivid’s Artistic Director, written with the ensemble members in mind.
Molière in the Park presents "The Misanthrope"


(BROOKLYN, NY) -- Molière in the Park, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, presents a fully staged production of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Wilbur’s translation of Molière’s The Misanthrope, directed by Molière in the Park’s Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien. The production runs May 13 - 25, 2022 in a limited engagement at Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center in Brooklyn.  
Center Players of Freehold Presents "Crimes of the Heart"


(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Center Players continues its return to live theater with a production of Beth Henley’s 1981 Pulitzer Prize-winning Crimes of the Heart. Directed by award-winning filmmaker and playwright Anthony Marinelli of Manalapan, the production will run from May 6th - 22nd at Center Playhouse (35 South Street) in Freehold. The tragicomedy tells the story of the three Magrath sisters (Lenny, Meg, and Babe) in Hazlehurst, MS (circa 1974) who reunite at their grandfather’s home as he convalesces in the hospital while the youngest sister, Babe, awaits trial for shooting her husband.

Langosta Lounge to Feature Jackson Pines and Cranston Dean Band Every Thursday in May


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- This May, Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park will play host to a month long residency featuring New Jersey bands Jackson Pines and the Cranston Dean Band on Thursday nights at 8:00pm. Two of NJ's most critically acclaimed and hard working independent singer-songwriters will be playing different sets each week highlighting music from their former albums as well as new music they're working on and releasing later this year.
Lucy Yeghiazaryn Will Explore 'Moods and Stories' of the American Songbook during NJ Jazz Society Virtual Social


​​​​​​​When pianist Emmett Cohen performed at New York’s Birdland this past March, he invited guest artists to join his trio each night. One of those guest artists was vocalist Lucy Yeghiazaryn, and BroadwayWorld’s Stephen Mosher wrote that, “once Ms. Yeghiazaryn was on board, the musicality of the night moved to a new level.” Describing the vocalist as “a fascinating new personality,” he added that she “really livened things up for the crowd.”
Trilogy: An Opera Company presents Michael Raphael's "Nat Turner"


(NEWARK, NJ) -- Trilogy: An Opera Company presents Michael Raphael’s Nat Turner, an opera inspired by the leader of a rebellion of enslaved people in 1831. The free performance takes place on April 23 at 4:00pm at Central High School in Newark.
Debonair Music Hall presents Bad Luck. and Dollar Signs


(TEANECK, NJ) -- Bad Luck. is hitting the road on a co-headlining tour with Dollar Signs.  The tour comes to the Debonair Music Hall on Thursday, May 19th. An all-ages show, doors are at 6:00pm, showtime is 7:00pm. Taking Meds will open the night.

Excitement is in the air this Friday, April 1, 2022 evening at the Grunin Center for the Arts, located on the campus of Toms River, NJ’s Ocean County College. Audience members are streaming in for a live concert by the Australian classical/contemporary vocal group, The Ten Tenors. The sold-out show is a benefit performance presented by the Ocean County College Foundation.
2022 All Things Go Music Festival to Take Place October 1st


(WASHINGTON, DC) -- The 2022 All Things Go Music Festival returns to the iconic Merriweather Post Pavilion on October 1st, where it will host 16 artists across multiple stages. RVCC Chorale to Perform Annual Spring Concert on May 1st


(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The RVCC Chorale will give its annual spring concert on Sunday, May 1 at 3:00pm, in the Welpe Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg campus. The program will feature the world premiere of John Sichel’s Three Motets, a work made possible by a 2022 RVCC Faculty Research Grant.

2022 New Jersey International Film Festival Preview


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Over 20 films will have their New Jersey or Area Premiere (Middlesex County) screenings as part of the 2022 New Jersey International Film Festival, which takes place on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between June 3-12. The 27th annual festival will be a hybrid - presented online as well as with select in person screenings at Rutgers University. All the films will be available virtually via Video on Demand for 24 hours on their show date. Each ticket or Festival Pass purchased is good for both the virtual and the in person screenings.

Nimbus Dance Returns Home For Three Performances Including World Premiere of "Avenoir" by Yoshito Sakuraba


(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Following a sold-out weekend of performances in early March, Nimbus Dance returns to the Nimbus Arts Center stage with ANIMA, featuring a world premiere by celebrated international choreographer Yoshito Sakuraba, and two iconic works by Artistic Director Samuel Pott. The performances, April 29 & 30 at 8:00pm, May 1 at 3:00pm, include the highly anticipated world premiere of “Avenoir” by Yoshito Sakuraba. Started before pandemic lockdowns in 2020, recently completed, and now premiering at Nimbus “Avenoir” displays Sakuraba’s trademark mix of virtuosic flexibility and gravity-defying lifts.
Mosaic Dance Theater presents "Troy: Women & War" on May 21-22


(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- In this first in-person production since 2019, the Mosaic Dance Theater Company presents Troy: Women & War at the First Congregational Church in Montclair, NJ on May 21-22.  The program is presented free of charge, and reservations are strongly recommended.

Cirque du Soleil Comes to Wells Fargo Center In June


(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Cirque du Soleil will return to Philadelphia in June with its coolest arena show yet – CRYSTAL. Back by popular demand, this one-of-a-kind performance blends circus art and the world of ice skating. The show takes audiences on a journey into a whimsical frozen playground where ice skating of all kinds mingles with acrobatics and aerial feats. CRYSTAL will perform at the Wells Fargo Center for five performances from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26, 2022.
