"Waitress" Is Back in New Brunswick -- Hold the Mayo


The Broadway theater and film hit Waitress, that closed suddenly in New York last December following a COVID spike and was shuttered through the holidays, is back on the stage, healthier than ever, on a national tour that takes it to the State Theatre in New Brunswick April 14-16.
Centenary Stage Company to Hold Auditions for 2022 Summer Productions


(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The Centenary Stage Company, a professional not for profit theater located on the Campus of Centenary University, will be holding, non-equity open auditions for the 2022 summer stock productions of RENT and The Marvelous Wonderettes.  Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 12:00pm – 8:00pm in the David and Carol Lackland Center located on the campus of Centenary University at 715 Grand Ave Hackettstown, NJ. Video submissions will also be considered. 
Peak Performances at Montclair State University presents the U.S. Premiere of "Hotel Paradiso"

Finnish punk rock band One Hidden Frame has released the new album I Am Not Here via Thousand Islands Records (North and South Americas) and Lockjaw Records (UK/EU).
BANKS releases "Serpentina" and Brings Tour to NYC and Philly


Internationally acclaimed artist BANKS returns with her fourth studio album, Serpentina. The 13-track body of work features previously released singles, "The Devil," "Skinnydipped," "Holding Back," " Still Love You" as well as the album's current focus track, "Fuck Love." She has also announced a tour that includes shows at Radio City Music Hall in NYC on July 27 and The Met Philadelphia on July 28. Both shows include special guests Lauren Jauregui and Cautious Clay on the bill.
Exit Zero Jazz Festival to Take Place May 13-15


(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Michael Kline, Producer of the Worldwide Logistics Group Exit Zero Jazz Festival, has announced the complete musical lineup set to perform on the outdoor Main Venue at Exit Zero Ferry Park and the bars/ restaurants of Cape May. After mounting reduced capacity festivals with Covid-19 protocols in place in October of 2020 and April of 2021, Exit Zero Jazz comes roaring back with what Festival Producer Michael Kline described as "our most ambitious Festival to date."  The festival takes place May 13-15, 2022.
Catching up with James Dalton: Talking Brighton Fringe and Memphis


James Dalton is a performer, a storyteller, and a musician. He's someone who has managed to perform around the world based solely on talent and ambition. James was featured several times in my old Upstage Magazine and is still very much active today. In fact, he's about to compete for the third time in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and will debut his new show, "Asbury Park & Me," at the Brighton Fringe festival a few weeks later.

On Wednesday, April 13, Vox Sambou and his band will take the stage at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts. He writes and performs in Haitian, French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and his music focuses on the traditional rhythms of Haiti mixed with elements of Afrobeat, Jazz, Reggae, and Hip hop. Vox Sambou is currently - and it seems usually - touring the world. We spoke with him shortly after he arrived in the US after a visit with family in Haiti.

Christian Beach, a longtime fixture of the New Jersey music scene, has released an official music video for “Clean Livin’” from his new EP, Direct and Free. He will also be performing a live set at the South Amboy (N.J.) Art Alliance on Friday, April 22. 
Plainfield Symphony to Close Out Season with "Fabulous Fours"


(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Plainfield Symphony presents their 102nd Season Final Concert: “Fabulous Fours” on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00pm under the baton of Maestro Charles Prince. Itay Goren will be the soloist for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 followed by Brahms’ masterful Symphony No. 4. This inperson concert will also be livestreamed on the PSO YouTube Channel.

A Leg To Stand On Music has released the new single "Everybody Knows the Way the Wind Blows" by Deena and Chasing Colours. Deena aka Deena Shoshkes began her music career as co-founder of The Cucumbers, a leading band in the 80s indie pop scene in Hoboken, NJ, with reviews in Rolling Stone and People Magazine and videos on MTV. Deena’s new song "Everybody Knows the Way the Wind Blows" is the result of a long distance collaboration with UK-based producer Chasing Colours available on all music platforms.

Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company presents "The Bridge" Virtual Dance Institute April 11,13


(NEW YORK, NY) -- In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company has established a new dance institute through Zoom, The Bridge.  The Institute’s aim is to bring together dancers, choreographers and directors around the world to experience the master teachers of color whose practices are embedded in the community and are focused on advancing the art of dance that transform the personal, environmental and metaphysical spaces. Interested dancers can join the class by registering here.
