Hamilton-based singer-songwriter Keith Monacchio of the great ‘90s band The Semibeings will release his fifth solo album on March 22, “Under a Nightlight Sky.”

The LP’s single, "Something Good To Believe In,” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week. As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Something Good To Believe In” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on March 11 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com

The copious jangle of the coping pop opus also features pianist Arne Wendt, drummer Tom Kale, and album engineer Sean Glonek, who played bass and guitar.

The forthcoming 10-song LP recorded at Sean’s SRG Studios explores themes of family, fatherhood, political tribalism, aging and a hope for a better future in very uncertain times. With Sean, who’s also helmed indie darlings Juliana Hatfield and Tanya Donnelly, Keith has created a musical landscape where genres and styles can cross paths and meet in the middle of imperfection.

“In todayʼs climate of fear, it would have been easy to take the songwriting down a very dark road,” Keith said. “Instead, these 10 songs focus on trying to find positivity, light and faith; that the days to come will be better than those of the recent past. ‘Under a Nightlight Sky,’ at its core, is a search for solace.”

Keith's 30-year musical journey began in the ‘90s with The Semibeings, Trenton-based alt-rockers who recorded for Shimmydisc and C/Z Records. Keith then led the indie outfit The Commons through the early 2000s. He went solo in 2008 and released “The Long Evening” in 2010, “Tips, Drinks and Gas Money” in 2012, and “The Dust-Up” in 2016.

After a six-year absence of new music, “Under a Nightlight Sky” will be a welcomed return. Expect a spring and summer tour in support of the LP, as well as a lyric video for the song "When You Go" a week after the album hits. For more about Keith, follow him on Instagram
