Dina Laura's "Pillow Talk" to Debut at Garden State Film Festival

originally published: 03/09/2022

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ever awaken to something going bump in the night? Check out Pillow Talk, a short comedic film written by Dina Laura, which makes its worldwide debut as part of the 20th annual Garden State Film Festival at Asbury Hall in the Asbury Hotel, 210 Fifth Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ on Saturday, March 26th at 2:30pm.

For Lauren, a single gal in New York City, life is never easy, and during a pandemic, it's even more difficult. When she awakens to a loud crash in the middle of the night, Lauren FaceTimes the one person she wants to talk to—her hovering (and smothering) Jewish mother. Staying up all night, they find connection, which is what Lauren needed all along. That, and maybe a little spring cleaning!

The cast includes Dina Laura as Lauren (God Friended Me) and Karen Lynn Gorney (star of Saturday Night Feveropposite John Travolta) as Ma, and is produced by Broadway’s Shawn Arani (CompanyA Christmas Carol) and Tessa Faye Talent, LLC.

Tickets are available for purchase online.  The Garden State Film Festival has in-person screenings from March 23-27 and then virtual screenings from March 28 to April 3, 2022. For more information on the festival, click here.

Born and bred in New Jersey, Dina Laura is thrilled to be premiering her first film, Pillow Talk, in her home state. An award winning playwright, Elephants and Other Worldly Dilemmas won FringeFav at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2015. Her first full-length play, on the rocks, won the Best Audience Award at the Cherry Lane Studio Theater in NYC as part of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival in 2008. The play subsequently premiered at the Off-Market Theater in San Francisco.
