Pushcart Players' Artistic Director Performs in “Little Shop of Horrors” at Short North Stage


Pushcart Players' Artistic Director, Paul Whelihan will be performing the role of Mr. Mushnik in the Short North Stage production of "Little Shop of Horrors." This sci-fi, cult-hit musical comedy will play from March 17 through April 16 at the Garden Theater in Columbus, OH.
Jersey City Theater Center presents Live Online Staged Reading of “The Bluebottles”


(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) will present a live-streamed staged reading of "The Bluebottles" from South African playwright Deborah Vieyra on Saturday, March 12, at 12:00pm. E.T. The play, directed by Jacquelyn de Villiers, continues JCTC’s spotlight on current South African works as part of Voices International Theatre Festival. 
Premiere Stages at Kean University Announces Spring Program Schedule


(UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has announced its spring schedule of community engagement and new play development programs. Phoenix Productions to Present "Putting it Together" to Honor Stephen Sondheim

Albert Hall to Celebrate 25 Years of Music on Saturday


(WARETOWN, NJ) -- Albert Hall, the home for live country, bluegrass, and pinelands music, is reopening on March 5 with a Special 25th Anniversary Show - celebrating 25 years of music in the Albert Hall building. All paid adult tickets receive a free Saturday night ticket for a future show. The night includes performances by Easy as Pie, Redbird, Cedar Creek, Prograsstination, L & B Line, Third Rail, Singin' for Supper, Folks Back Home, and North Country.  The evening concludes with a jam featuring all of the musicians and the Pickin shed will be open!

Ms. Avery Gagliano To Give Master Class To Past Winners of the Bravura Philharmonic Young Artists Concerto Competition

Our Favorite Stories In Film: Inez & Doug & Kira


New Jersey Stage published its 25,000th story in December 2021. As the site approached the milestone, we posed the question on social media as how we should celebrate.  One response was to highlight our favorite stories from over the years.  We liked this idea, but could not narrow things down to just 25 favorites so we will present a favorite each day from different genres.  Every Wednesday will feature a story about film.  This week's choice is a feature on the film Inez & Doug & Kira in which we interviewed the film's director, Julia Kots.

Arts Council of Princeton To Hold Art People Party Fundraiser on March 26th

Newark Mayor Signs Executive Order Ending Proof of Vaccination Requirement and Lifting Indoor Mask Mandate


(NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced that effective  Wednesday, March 2, under a new Executive Order, the City of Newark is lifting the proof of vaccination mandate, and will no longer require persons to wear face masks while indoors in public places. Businesses have the discretion to require patrons and employees to wear face masks while in their establishment. In addition, it is strongly recommended that buildings housing seniors/and or the disabled require the wearing of face masks in public and common areas, including, but not limited to elevators, hallways, stairways. Masks are still required in common areas of all government buildings.
