(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- After putting on the School’s first musical in more than 50 years with a production of “Seussical: The Musical” in early 2020, the talented students from Rutgers Preparatory School will be returning to the stage, performing three nights of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” (a musical) at Brook Arts Center in Bound Brook from February 24th-26th.
Based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find true love. This fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World," and the production will feature students in grades 4-12 as well as a pit orchestra and stage crew comprised of Rutgers Prep students.
The production features Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, Book by Doug Wright.
Showtimes on February 24th, 25th, and 26th will be at 8:00pm and tickets can be purchased in person, by phone, or online at www.brookarts.org. The arts center is located at 10 Hamilton Street in Bound Brook, New Jersey.
Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
