"Discover Greatness: An Illustrated History of Negro Leagues Baseball" comes to Piscataway

(PISCATAWAY, NJ) -- East Jersey Old Town Village in Piscataway will host a traveling exhibit from The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum entitled "Discover Greatness: An Illustrated History of Negro Leagues Baseball" from February 2 through May 1, 2022. The exhibit features close to 90 framed photographs showcasing the history of African American baseball from the late 1800s to 1960s.

East Jersey Town Village is located at 1050 River Road in Piscataway, New Jersey. It is an open-air museum located in Johnson Park in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Village is a collection of Raritan Valley area historic buildings and includes original, reconstructed, and replicated 18th and 19th century vernacular architecture typical of farm and merchant communities of Central Jersey. It is home to a permanent exhibition about Raritan Landing, an 18th-century inland port once located just downstream on the river. For hours, information, and directions text CULTURE to 56512. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) is the world’s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African-American baseball and its impact on the social advancement of America. The privately funded, 501 c3, not-for-profit organization was established in 1990 and is in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri’s Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. The NLBM operates two blocks from the Paseo YMCA where Andrew “Rube” Foster established the Negro National League in 1920.
