Dance Returns To NJPAC

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center  (NJPAC) is welcoming live, in-person dance back to its stage throughout 2021 beginning with a new production by the Latin and ballroom champions Maksim and Valentin  Chmerkovskiy (ABC’s Dancing with the Stars). Celebrating its first New Jersey performance in over a year, Parsons Dance will return with its athletic ensemble work. In addition, the New Jersey-based Nimbus Dance will present the world premiere of Raucous Caucus Tango, a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning tango virtuoso  Pedro Giraudo. In December, NJPAC brings back its popular holiday shows: the  traditional “Nutcracker” performed by the State Ballet Theater of Ukraine followed by the NJPAC audience favorite, urban twist on the famous ballet, “The Hip Hop Nutcracker”. 

33rd Falcon Ridge Folk Festival To Take Place July 31st

(GOSHEN, CT) -- The 33rd Falcon Ridge Folk Festival will make its annual flight, albeit somewhat differently this year; in a new location, one day only, with full pandemic precautions & both in-person and live-stream options on Saturday, July 31 at the Goshen Fair Grounds in Goshen, CT.  Marking its usual calendar spot and Brigadoon-like appearance, the fest will be shorter & sweeter yet still brimming with love, talent, community spirit, and of course, still accessible and ASL-interpreted.

Chris Harford's Band of Changes comes to The Stanhope House on August 7th

(STANHOPE, NJ) -- Chris Harford's Band of Changes doesn't always change so much, after all. When Harford brings his band to The Stanhope House summer parking lot series on Saturday, August 7, he'll be joined by a couple of musicians that have long histories with the front man. 

Aspire PAC presents "Les Misérables" School Edition in Concert July 29-31

(WAYNE, NJ) -- Aspire Performing Arts Company (PAC) presents Les Misérables School Edition in a beautiful, outdoor staged concert at the Dey Mansion in Wayne. Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical—a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo's novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. Performances run July 29 to 31.   

Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company Announces Dancers For The Bridge Week of 7/26/21

(FORT LEE, NJ) -- In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company has established a new dance institute through Zoom, The Bridge.  The Institute’s aim is to bring together dancers, choreographers and directors around the world to experience the master teachers of color whose practices are embedded in the community and are focused on advancing the art of dance that transform the personal, environmental and metaphysical spaces. 

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs To Release "Through The Smoke"

(BOZEMAN, MO) -- Bluegrass musicians are the real deal. They are instrumental virtuosos and high-lonesome vocal masters that create haunting musical moods with every stringed composition. Montana’s Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, the five-member bluegrass ensemble with the soaring harmonies and the rapid-fire picking, bring modern authenticity to a revered genre.

Ocean County College To Continue Successful Social Justice Series

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Last September, Ocean County College launched what was intended to be a one-year series of interactive events, films and lectures dealing with social justice issues. In spite of the campus closure, events continued virtually, and the programming was so popular, the College will continue its Social Justice Series throughout the coming academic year. 

The Feelies To Perform At White Eagle Hall on November 6th

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- White Eagle Hall presents The Feelies on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 8:00pm. Formed in Haledon NJ in 1976, The Feelies released 4 albums- including their critically acclaimed and influential debut Crazy Rhythms, which was voted 49 in the top 100 albums of the 1980s by Rolling Stone magazine and chosen by Spin Magazine as 49 of the best alternative records of all time. Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band To Reunite At Tierney's on July 27th For Benefit

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band will reunite at Tierney’s in Montclair, NJ, on July 27 to pay tribute to its founder, the late Diane Moser. Also on the bill: jazz bassist Mark Dresser, along with multi-instrumentalist Marty Ehrlich, pianist Angelica Sanchez and drummer Michael Sarin.

Rahway's Cherry Street Soirée en Blanc to Take Place August 29th

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Cherry Street Soirée en Blanc is perhaps one of the classiest events happening in Rahway this summer on Sunday, August 29 from 7:00pm-10:00pm! Loosely adopting it’s concept from the world famous Dîner en Blanc, the Cherry Street Soirée is a group dinner setting in which both patrons and table settings all adorned in white, dine al fresco on the quaint Cherry Street in Rahway amidst both live music and DJ sets.
