CDC Theatre presents "The Wizard of Oz"

(CRANFORD, NJ) -- We're off to see the Wizard! This December, the beloved tale of a Kansas farm girl who travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, comes to CDC Theatre to enchant families during the holidays. CDC Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz across two weekends (December 8-10 and December 15-17, 2023).

By L. Frank Baum,with Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg and background Music by Herbert Stothart. Dance and Vocal Arrangements by Peter Howard. Orchestration by Larry Wilcox. Adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Based upon the Classic Motion Picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros.

The cast includes Nina Randazzo (Dorothy), Dottie Lis (Toto), Deb Feldman (Aunt Em / Glinda), Joel Redmount (Uncle Henry / Guard), Betty Mack (Hunk / Scarecrow), Alan González (Hickory / Tin Man), Mark Zebro Jr. (Zeke / Lion), Ann Minski (Miss Gulch / Witch), and Ian Federgreen (Professor Marvel / Wizard of Oz).

The Ensemble includes Dania Davie, Daniel Gardner, Telina Cuppari, Beth Kasper, Leanne Marie Laurino, Jessica Macauda-Zito, Stephanie Villanueva, ​Steven Wasco Jr, Lorelle Lane, Anthony Bacolo, Jack Ennis, Rosie Murphy, Emily Turon, Melissa Yesalavich, Frankie Yesalavich, Harrison Heiss, Olivia Mulcahy, Ella Boccia, Charlotte Ahearn, Scarlett Davie, Lucy Lazorik, and Katelyn Turon.

Performances take place Friday and Saturday, December 8, 9, 15, 16 at 8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, December 9, 10, 16, 17 at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Accessible parking is available and the theater is equipped with one wheelchair accessible restroom in the main lobby. CDC Theatre is located at 78 Winans Avenue in Cranford, New Jersey. The Cranford Dramatic Club is a non profit all volunteer organization whose purpose is to: produce and present plays of merit, develop, by discussion and active participation, the talents of members in all phases of dramatic work, e.g., directing, acting, staging, etc.; and stimulate community interest in amateur theater.

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company kicks off SUMMERFEST 2025 with Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville, July 10-20 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center. With a book by Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia and Emmy nominee Mike O'Malley, this production is jam-packed with the artist's most beloved classic tunes including "Cheeseburger in Paradise," "Margaritaville," "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," "Fins," "Volcano," and many more.

(BOONTON, NJ) -- LoMotion Live is proud to present The Diary of Anne Frank, a play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, based on the book Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. The production runs from July 18-26, 2025 at The Parsippany Arts Center in Boonton.

Art House Productions to present "Hamlet" directed by C. Rashee Stevenson in October

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions will present a mainstage production of Hamlet, directed by C. Rashee Stevenson, from October 9–26, 2025, at the Art House Theater in Jersey City. This bold reimagining of Shakespeare's classic tragedy fuses the original text with interpolated language from Les Nègres and Les Paravents by Jean Genet and works by Federico García Lorca—transforming the play into a cosmic crime thriller that plunges deep into grief, identity, and the metaphysical.
