(BELMAR, NJ) — As we head into the holidays, New Jersey Stage has released Issue 53 of its monthly magazine featuring the band Gooch & the Motion on the cover.  It’s a cover story that is appropriate for the holidays as lead singer Ryan “Gooch” Nelson has not only fought back from tremendous adversities (being paralyzed from the neck down and beating cancer) but he started a foundation to help others with music therapy the way music helped him recover and gain a purpose again.  ... (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Jersey City Arts Council announces the launch of 14C Art Fair–a new and uniquely Jersey art fair–which will be held March 15-17, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the Jersey City waterfront. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- D&R Greenway Land Trust’s juried exhibition, Lovely as a Tree, includes the work of more than 80 artists responding to the words of poet Joyce Kilmer: “I think that I shall never see  a poem lovely as a tree.” The artwork is on view November 19, 2018 through January 25, 2019 at D&R Greenway’s Johnson Education Center, 1 Preservation Place, Princeton. ... (TRENTON, NJ) -- The New Jersey Council on the Arts has announced grants for New Jersey Arts Organizations to help with General Operating Support (GOS), General Program Support (GPS), and Arts Project Support (APS). The Notice of Intent to Apply is December 4, 2018 and the application deadline is February 13, 2019.  The application will be available in mid-January. State Arts Council staff is available to help with questions specific to your application. Program Officers in each discipline are reachable by telephone and email, or you may schedule an appointment. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Morven Museum & Garden hosts Masters of Illusion: The Legacy of John F. Peto from November 15th through May 12, 2019. Morven has partnered with the John F. Peto Studio Museum,  to present a new look at trompe l’oeilart in New Jersey.  Trompe l’oeil, pronounced “tromp loi,” is a French phrase meaning “to deceive the eye,” which is used to describe paintings that create the illusion of a three dimensional scene.  There will be an Opening Reception on November 14 at 6:00pm.... (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Artist Nikolina Kovalenko is interested in humanity’s vanishing connection with nature and the consequences our everyday actions have on the environment. That fascination provides the inspiration for her new exhibition, Reclamation, which will be on display at the Watchung Reservation’s Trailside Nature and Science Center, in Mountainside, NJ.
