The Tanne Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2018 awards. Now in its twentieth year, the foundation's mission is to underscore the importance of supporting individual artists with unrestricted funding. The awards, totaling $63,000, honor six artists in recognition of their artistic achievements as well as one artist-run organization which has presented exceptional work for 41 years. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- D&R Greenway Land Trust’s Marie L. Matthews Galleries celebrate our founding river with “Delaware Dreams: Return to the River” art exhibition through November 9.  Place-based artists include Anne Abo-Harb, Bob Barish, Kate Graves, Erica Harney and Frank Sauer. (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University hosts an art exhibit celebrating Dr. Vincent DiMattio’s career as a professor in the Art & Design department. The exhibit will be on display in all three of the University’s galleries now through December 7. This year marks DiMattio’s 50th year as a faculty member and a renowned member of the Monmouth community. DiMattio received his Master’s in Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University and his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art. He joined Monmouth’s faculty in 1968, where he served as department chair and as gallery director for more than 20 years. He is credited with starting the gallery program at Monmouth University.... (NEWARK, NJ) -- NJPAC Center for Arts Education's Saturday programs for students ages 10-18 have been announced for the 2018-19 season. They are offering arts training in Film, Musical Theater, Jazz, Hip Hop and Dance. Classes start on September 22. ... READ ON

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Studio Montclair (SMI) and The Creativity Caravan present the exhibit, “Art Lotto,” an artist-based, community-oriented portrait show on view from September 15 through November 10, 2018 at the Studio Montclair Gallery. Inspired by the original “Art Lotto” in Harrisonburg VA, the show encouraged artists to connect and collaborate in a unique way.  Each artist was randomly paired with another to create a portrait of that person, but the artists were not paired with each other.... (MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission will hold its Annual Juried Art Show on October 15th at the Monroe Township Public Library.  Artists may bring art to the library between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, 7:00pm to 8:00pm or by appointment.  There is a $10 non-refundable entry fee with the application.  Artists may submit one entry each.  Works in all media will be considered.... (NEWTOWN, PA) -- The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County presents their first-ever “Celebration of the Performing Arts” on Saturday, October 6th, starting at 10:00am.  The event is a twelve-hour marathon, specifically celebrating the county’s inspiring and engaging performing artists.  This family-friendly arts celebration event encourages attendees to “camp-out” by bringing blankets and chairs and enjoy the “shows” and specialty food trucks, all offered within the college’s lawns, beautiful sculpture gardens, indoor atrium and the intimate Zlock Center for the Performing Arts, a 330-seat theater Bucks County Community College’s Newtown Campus.  ...
