"I was a radio DJ when I was younger and now I am in Paris, France; maybe you will come here one day," laughed The Salt Collective's Stephane Schuck as he gave a bit of the band's history prior to their two area shows this week in Pennsylvania and Saturday January 20 at Jersey City's White Eagle Hall. 



FL!P Circus to Begin 2024 Season in Paramus

(PARAMUS, NJ) -- FL!P Circus, has been winning over audiences since debuting in 2022. The intimate big top experience, created by the Vazquez family, is hitting the road again with its brand-new Tour '24 production. Hailed as one of America's best new family entertainment events, this new show was specially curated to showcase an incredible and eclectic mix of international human performers. The new production launches its year-long national tour at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ (February 16 – March 5) before moving to the Cross Country Center in Yonkers, NY (March 8 – April 2). Additional area dates to be announced soon. Tickets are on sale now.



Vivid Stage Receives Several Grants in Support of Season

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, is the recipient of several grants for a variety of programs and productions in the 2023-2024 season.



Ocean County Library's Long Beach Island Branch presents Amelia Stewart Exhibition

(SURF CITY, NJ) -- "Looking A'Round," a collection of photos taken on Long Beach Island by the late Amelia Stewart, will be on display throughout the month of February at the Ocean County Library Long Beach Island Branch. An award-winning elementary school instructor who taught in the Bridgewater-Raritan school system, Amelia became a familiar figure in Ship Bottom during her retirement years. "The Lady with the Camera" could frequently be found strolling the shoreline, searching for captivating images through her lens.

Rutgers Hosts Spring 2024 New Jersey Film Festival

The Spring 2024 New Jersey Film Festival – hosted by Rutgers University and set for the weekends between Jan. 26 and Feb. 18 – features both online and in-person showings. More than 40 films from around the world will hit the silver screen at Rutgers University–New Brunswick during the Spring 2024 New Jersey Film Festival, which runs on the weekends starting Friday, Jan. 26, through Sunday, Feb. 18.  



The Newton Theatre presents Big Apple Comedy Club #54

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Big Apple Comedy Club #54 takes place at The Newton Theatre on Friday, March 15, 2024. The lineup includes Rich Aronovitch, Robin Fox, Joe Larson, and Ruperto Vanderpool. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.



Zimmerli presents George Segal: Themes and Variations

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Marking the centennial of George Segal's birth in 1924, the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers—New Brunswick welcomes visitors to experience more than 60 works: some familiar, others rarely seen. MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. 2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying.
