SOPAC's 25th Annual Giants of Jazz Event to Honor Drummer Lewis Nash

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of its iconic Giants of Jazz event by honoring Grammy Award-winning drummer and master band leader Lewis Nash on the Mainstage Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 8:00pm.



Luna Stage presents "Lonely Planet" by Steven Dietz

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents Lonely Planet by Steven Dietz, directed by Melissa Firlit, from November 14 – December 8, 2024. Lonely Planet is a funny and heartwarming story of friendship, love, and survival. In the 1990s, down an old city street, inside a small map store, a pile of chairs begins to form. Two best friends, Jody and Carl, manage the ever-growing mountain of chairs while taking care of each other and navigating the dark reality that looms in the outside world.



NJ State Council on the Arts Awards the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey with General Support Grant

​​​​​​​(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) has been awarded a generous grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA), part of over $31 million distributed to arts organizations, projects, and artists statewide. VACNJ is one of approximately 170 recipients, receiving $188,720 in general operating support. This funding will bolster VACNJ's operations, including administrative expenses, programs, staffing, facilities, and capital improvements.



Rahway 'Unveils' 1,500 Square Foot Mural Celebrating Innovators to Welcome Residents and Visitors at Train Station

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- On October 25, 2024, Rahway officially unveiled its latest public art mural, highlighting innovators with connections to the city, on board an NJ TRANSIT train attended by local dignitaries. Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe and Rahway City Council were joined by Assemblywoman Linda Carter (LD22) as well as representatives from NJ TRANSIT, Merck Research Labs, and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. Following the unveiling, Mayor Giacobbe shared remarks at the Rahway Train Station in celebration of this exciting merger of technology and art.








Levoy Theatre presents Irving Berlin's "White Christmas"

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- Get into the holiday spirit with Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Levoy Theatre. Based upon the classic film, the production features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Performances run weekends from November 15-24, 2024.



Count Basie Center for the Arts presents George Thorogood & The Destroyers on February 18th

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Count Basie Center for the Arts presents George Thorogood & The Destroyers on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 8:00pm. Led by Thorogood's gravelly vocals, the band which includes Jeff Simon, Bill Blough, Jim Suhler, and Buddy Leach, has been a staple on rock radio for decades.

"Slanted Floors" returns to its Greenpoint Apartment

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Following critical acclaim and sold-out performances, Slanted Floors — hailed by the Daily Beast as "one of New York's most unique and exclusive pieces of theatre" — returns for a strictly limited five-week engagement in its original Greenpoint apartment setting. Performances will run May 26 through June 26, 2026, with 150 seats available.



Arden

Arden Theatre Company presents "Dear Evan Hansen"

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Arden Theatre Company brings the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen, to the F. Otto Haas Stage this spring. Featuring a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the production is directed by Terrence J. Nolen and co-conceived by Jorge Cousineau and Nolen. Performances begin May 21, the show opens May 27, and runs through July 5, 2026.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "West Side Story"

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents West Side Story, the final production of Paper Mill's 2025-2026 season, from May 28 through June 28, 2026. An enduring masterpiece based on a conception of Jerome Robbins, West Side Story reimagines Romeo and Juliet in 1950s New York, where young lovers Tony and Maria dare to dream of a future together as rival gangs the Jets and the Sharks clash for control of the streets.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents What the Constitution Means to Me by Heidi Schreck from June 3-28, 2026. Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning constitutional debate competitions across the country. In this electrifying and deeply personal play, she revisits that teenage self to explore how the U.S. Constitution has shaped her life — and how it continues to shape all of ours.
