Here is the morning update from New Jersey's arts newswire. We regularly publish between 8-15 new articles and news reports each day. Nobody covers the Arts throughout the Garden State like New Jersey Stage!
"Yes, November 1," began violinist Ginny Luke as she discussed her new solo vocal album, "Devil At My Heels." "I did my first single at 14 years old, a girl group, two albums at 15 and 17 years old and then I played on a bunch of other artists' records from age 17 on and that takes a lot of time to work with other artists, fulfill their visions and record their music. Then I put my own EP out at age 21 and then continued putting singles out and as you probably know, we're in a singles driven market. So, for the last six years, I just kept putting singles out and working with major artists and now, finally, the time has come for my own album and I'm really excited. I think it was just the timing and the label schedule after the pandemic."

Sadly, this show has been cancelled upon news that Southside Johnny has retired effectively immediately from touring.
If you've seen Luc Besson's Lucy you've essentially seen a slicker (albeit worse) version of stunt performer turned writer/director Kelsey Egan's The Fix. Like Besson's film, The Fix is centred on a young heroine who accidentally consumes an experimental drug that gives her instant superpowers. The main difference here is that The Fix's protagonist also undergoes extreme physical changes to her body, which puts the film in the realm of movies like Ken Russell's Altered States, but both movies have pretty much the same narrative of a young woman being pursued by the villainous developers of the drug she unwittingly consumed.
