An Interview with Michael Patrick about Leaving a Day Job Behind and Playing Music Full-time

Michael Patrick is a Americana singer-songwriter who has played well over 2,000 live shows in the tri-state area, released six albums from 2004's Roots & Branches to 2023's Crossing Bridges, and created popular shows like his Johnny Cash "Ring of Fire" tribute. A few years ago, he moved to the Hunterdon County area. Halfway through 2023, Michael made an even bigger life decision - he decided to leave his full-time job and play music full-time.

Spin Doctors Announce First New Studio Album in 12 Years

90s alt-rock icons the Spin Doctors announced their first studio LP in 12 years: Face Full of Cake, out April 11, 2025 via Capitol Records. They also released the album's first single "Still A Gorilla" and its accompanying music video. The track finds the band showcasing a noisier, heavier sound but with the same sense of humor they've come to be known for. Inspired by the hard-hitting energy of Robyn's "Konichiwa Bitches," the track finds the long-running group exploring new territory after 35+ years.

Newton Theatre presents Lynch Mob: The Final Ride featuring Paralandra

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Lynch Mob: The Final Ride featuring Paralandra comes to The Newton Theatre on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 8:00pm. The band was formed by George Lynch in 1989 after the breakup of Dokken, his long time band of which he was a founding member and main song writer.



Bordentown Old City Hall presents 4th Fanny Parnell Poetry Project

"I just finished up my 24th tour with Trans Siberian Orchestra as part of their West Coast band, we just finished up our annual winter tour and I'm glad to be back and prepping to do this show with the Kunes Clark Band," said Angus, the "Clark" of the Kunes Clark Band as he and partner Jimmy Kunes ready for an 8 p.m. "Face-melting" show on January 18 at the Carteret PAC which also includes legendary rockers Cactus, featuring Carmine Appice and Foghat. 



Art in the Atrium presents "Black Joy" exhibit at MPAC

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Art in the Atrium, Inc. (ATA), a non-profit arts organization founded in Morris County that champions Black art excellence, returns with its fourth major exhibition at Mayo Performing Arts Center's Art Upstairs and Starlight Galleries. The second episode of Lighty’s Corner is live! This is a bi-weekly recorded radio show presenting new rock music from around the globe. Each of the 15 new tracks played were received via email within the last two weeks - a practice I hope to continue each time.




"She's Like the Wind"

The first thing you'll see upon entering the gallery at Deep Space (77 Cornelison St.) is the shadow-outline of a woman's leg. There it is, on a chartreuse background, sticking straight up in the air with a curvaceous bare foot inches from the ceiling. That's all of the subject of "Lemon Lime Toe of God" that the oil painter Delilah Ray Miske is willing to show us. The rest of the body, she implies, is splayed out on a bed. We know it's summer because the window is closed and the air conditioner is plugged in. There's a pretty good chance that the possessor of the leg is undressed. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
