When it comes to documentaries, I often prefer those with a distinctive narrative, something provocative or emotional. Yet, The Storm & The Boats won me over in the first five minutes in a much different manner. The filmmaker Jody Small did not come with tissues, prepared to tell a heartfelt tale, but rather a calm and collected story where she presents a more objective, comprehensive view of what has happened in the past. It feels like someone you come across at the train station who has no makeup, no jewelry, no extravagant clothes or attitude, she looks at you with a peaceful look in the eyes, speaking with an even tone: “Wanna hear some stories?” And then, she would share with you the most heart-touching experiences.
(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, three-time Grammy Award-winning chamber choir The Crossing will perform David Lang's poor hymnal at Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus. Presented by McCarter Theatre, this performance explores themes of community, responsibility, and connection. Premiered in December 2023 in Philadelphia, the concert-length work has already become a staple in The Crossing's repertoire. Showtime is at 7:30pm.

"The new album I'm doing is an album of duets and there are some wonderful features, one of which is a song of David Crosby's called, "Radio" which is a duet with me and Graham (Nash) on a song of David Crosby's. That's one of our starters and then we're doing "Dreamers" as a big choral piece and Michael McDonald songs with me and so on; it's going to be out probably sometime in April. My book of poetry which is called, "Sometimes It's Heaven" is coming out on March 28 and it's a book of 100 poems that I wrote at the behest of my husband a few years ago and they formed this poetry book."

The second episode of Lighty’s Corner is live! This is a bi-weekly recorded radio show presenting new rock music from around the globe. Each of the 15 new tracks played were received via email within the last two weeks - a practice I hope to continue each time.
The first thing you'll see upon entering the gallery at Deep Space (77 Cornelison St.) is the shadow-outline of a woman's leg. There it is, on a chartreuse background, sticking straight up in the air with a curvaceous bare foot inches from the ceiling. That's all of the subject of "Lemon Lime Toe of God" that the oil painter Delilah Ray Miske is willing to show us. The rest of the body, she implies, is splayed out on a bed. We know it's summer because the window is closed and the air conditioner is plugged in. There's a pretty good chance that the possessor of the leg is undressed. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
