Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera Singer to Join Artist's Reception Event Honoring Anne Bachelier

(LAFAYETTE, NJ) -- Skylands Museum of Art has announced that Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera singer, Satomi Hofmann will join the May 3, 2025 Artist's Reception for Anne Bachelier, creator of the museum's current exhibition featuring the oil paintings that illuminate the gothic tale. The day's festivities will also include an artist's meet and greet, book signing and silent auction, featuring not only the last three limited-edition editions of Bachelier's books, a new oil painting called "Night of the Masks" but also two "Fondest Greetings" prop letters from the show, both of which were tucked into Madame Giry's bodice then read/sung aloud in performance in the Broadway production.

Black Box presents Staged Reading of "Three Tall Women" by Edward Albee

(TEANECK, NJ) -- In association with The Estate of Edward Albee, Black Box presents a staged reading of Edward Albee's Three Tall Women (1991) on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Debonair Music Hall. The winner of the 1994 Pulitzer Prize, the play is about a compelling woman more than ninety years old who reflects on her life. The reading is scheduled for 7:30pm.



$280,000 Grant Allows Stockton University to Provide Free Parkinson's Disease Speech Therapy

(GALLOWAY, NJ) -- The Speech and Hearing Clinic at Stockton University will provide free therapy to people with Parkinson's Disease through a five-year grant totaling $280,000 from the Parkinson’s Voice Project in April 2025.



The 14th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition is Now Accepting Entries

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has announced the opening of the 14th annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. The search is on for the next great jazz singer! Solo vocalists from around the world are encouraged to submit their entries before September 2, 2025, by visiting SarahVaughanCompetition.com. In the Fall, the Top Five Finalists will be announced followed by a final competition and performance on the iconic NJPAC stage in Newark, New Jersey.



The Theater Project to Present Reading of "Intake: Heaven" by Sheila Duane

(CRANFORD, NJ) -- Even Paradise has support staff, according to Intake: Heaven, Sheila Duane's comedy about the afterlife's processing department, which will have its first public presentation as part of The Theater Project's 2025 New Play Reading Series. The reading takes place Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Cranford Community Center. The reading is scheduled for 2:00pm.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Summer Theater's 2026 Children's Show is You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which runs weekends from June 20 to August 1, 2026. A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

Frank Hanavan's Hoboken is wet. In his streetscapes, surfaces glisten. The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying. The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open. A few people do, too.
