Middlesex County's FolkLIVE: Gospel Music Festival Returns with Headliners Fred Hammond and Kierra Sheard

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Get ready to experience an uplifting celebration of gospel music at Middlesex County’s second annual FolkLIVE: Gospel Music Festival, featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Fred Hammond and Grammy Award-nominated artist Kierra Sheard, along with a lineup of rising local talent on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Monument Square Park. The event runs from 2:00pm–6:00pm and takes place rain or shine.  Admission is free.

New Release Review - "Best Wishes To All"

Many short films are made as pitches for a potential feature film, and as such they tease an interesting concept while lacking the time to actually explore it in any detail. Working with co-writer Rumi Kakuta, director Yûta Shimotsu makes his feature debut, Best Wishes to All, by expanding his earlier short of the same name. While the feature length version develops the theme of the short, it never fully digs into what exactly it is it's trying to address. Viewers may be left frustrated by a rushed final act, but for fans of extreme Japanese horror, Shimotsu's debut is a must-see.








Premiere Stages Announces Four Finalists for 2025 Premiere Play Festival

(UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2025 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 20th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from 805 submissions.

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- This spring, Arden Children's Theatre invites families into a hilariously twisted world where classic fairy tales don't go quite as expected in its next production of the 2025/26 season, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (The Stinky Cheese Man). Based on the beloved book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, adapted by John Glore, the production brings the book's fractured fairy tales to life for kids and adults alike. Directed by Steve Pacek, the production runs on the Arden’s Arcadia stage with previews starting April 8, opening night on April 18, with performances running through May 31.
