Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...6/19/25

by Danny Coleman
published 2025-06-19

"Reese Wynans, I came to know him when he joined Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble and then after Stevie Ray Vaughn was killed, he played with a lot of people but for the last few years he's primarily toured with Joe Bonamassa. He's an amazing keyboard player and a super guy. I didn't know him prior to working on this record but my friend Mark Prentice who produced it with me suggested we bring him in and it was a perfect call."

REVIEW: "The Price" at Two River Theater

by Gary Wien
published 2025-06-19

(RED BANK, NJ) — There's something wonderful about seeing an Arthur Miller play performed on stage. I don't think any playwright ever connected with families and the internal drama within family relations like Miller did. One such example is The Price, which Two River Theater is presenting through June 29, 2025. It's a play rarely performed in the area, but the production directed by Brandon J. Dirden is highly recommended and furthers the powerful theme that runs through so many of Miller's works.

New Release Review - "Echo Valley"

by Eric Hillis, TheMovieWaffler.com
published 2025-06-19

British director Michael Pearce made an impressive debut with this 2017 Channel Islands-set thriller Beast, helping to make a star of Jesse Buckley in the process. After an underwhelming sci-fi sojourn with 2021's Encounter, Pearce now returns to thriller territory with Echo Valley. If you've seen Max Ophuls' 1949 thriller The Reckless Moment or its 2001 Tilda Swinton-starring remake The Deep End, the premise of Echo Valley will prove familiar. Well, the first half at least. In its second half Echo Valley deviates off course, and it's at that point that it runs into trouble.
