Despite the fact that it's a rainy and cold Tuesday, September 26, 2023 afternoon at Holmdel, NJ's PNC Bank Arts Center, several thousand devoted music lovers have turned out for a Garden State Arts Foundation concert starring Elvis tribute artist Richie Santa. Rounding out the bill for today's show is singer Frankie Pizarro, along with rock and rollers Bill Haley, Jr. and the Comets.



Final Weekend for Three Sam Shepard Plays at The Black Box

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- In association with the Estate, The Black Box - NJ's incubator for new and under-produced works by world-class artists - presents one final weekend of Sam Shepard's groundbreaking plays Action, The Unseen Hand, and the U.S. premiere of the unpublished Little Ocean. The final four performances are this coming Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (October 5-8) at 8:00pm sharp, with limited tickets for performances on the 2nd floor of 8 East Palisade Avenue, Englewood, NJ.

We here in New Jersey, we get, what, 45 million cable television networks and at least once a week they all air the hit Richard Gere/Julia Roberts hit movie Pretty Woman. I have seen it on a cable network at least once a week for the last three years. I love it and I always wished someone could take that song, and that unbeatable love story, and turn it into a musical.








Warren Community College Visiting Authors Series presents Jacqueline Vogtman and Jared Harél

(WASHINGTON, NJ) -- The Warren Community College Visiting Authors Series continues on Thursday, October 19, 2023 with readings by fiction writer Jacqueline Vogtman and poet Jared Harél. The event, beginning at 7:30pm in room 123A, is free and open to the public.

2023 NJACT Perry Awards Winners

(LAKEWOOD, NJ) -- The 2023 NJACT Perry Awards ceremony was held at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood on Sunday, October 1st. The NJACT Perry Awards are given for outstanding achievements in New Jersey Community Theater. The awards are named in honor of William Perry Morgan. Perry, as his friends have always known him, was a gifted director, actor, composer, and musician who was once a driving force in New Jersey Community Theater.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open.
