(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Hackensack Performing Arts Center will host the Hackensack debut of the wildly popular open mic night/variety show "Jim Caruso's Cast Party" on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 7:30pm. The evening will feature local performers and special surprise guests. Musical director Billy Stritch (Liza Minnelli, Tony Bennett) will hold court at the ivories, with Steve Doyle on bass.

It's a bit of a departure from the "Salmon sound" as he digs into his idea of what country music is. There’s some bluegrass and Cajun influences and honky tonk ballads all piled atop great players taking the tunes for a ride.

New York City guitarist, singer-songwriter Steve Conte has released the music video for his latest single "Girl With No Name." The clip was shot on the streets of NYC & in studio by Natborn Productions’ Peter Perenyi & son Orion Perenyi, with motion graphics, lyrics & final touches by David Provan at 12 Inch Media. The song follows the summer release of his single "Fourth Of July" (co-written with Andy Partridge of XTC).

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying. The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open. A few people do, too.
