Luna Stage Presents "Gay History for Straight People!" In June

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) --  After 14 months of powerful virtual work, Luna Stage will present four in-person, outdoor performances of Will Nolan’s  Gay History for Straight People! presented in association with ValleyArts at 8:00pm June 11, 12, 25 and 26. Seating is limited and social distancing will be observed at this adults-only performance featuring Nolan’s comedic alter ego Leola, “your new favorite Kelly Clarkson-worshipping, senior citizen, redneck lesbian.”

Music Mountain Theatre Presents "Murder at Cheltenham Manor, The Play" In June

(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents Murder at Cheltenham Manor, a twisting, turning, whodunnit, where the audience gets to have input which will steer the story as we progress. The play is newly adapted for the stage, based on an original YouTube series created last spring during quarantine. The production premieres on June 11th and runs for nine performances ending on June 27th.

Four Walls Theater Presents "Reclamation. My story. My time." Online June 24-25

Four Walls Theater presents "Reclamation. My story. My time." - its first Cabaret style show featuring exclusively Artists of Color in two nights of celebration and representation of solo performance art. Performances will be on Thursday June 24 and Friday June 25 at 9:00pm ET live on Zoom. This production was curated by Four Walls Theater’s Artistic Director Gina Marie Dropp and returning Guest Artist, Pravin Wilkins. Sound design and composition outside of artist’s original material will be provided my M. Florian Staab. 

Progressive Theater presents "The View UpStairs" June 25-26 at The Woodland

(MAPLEWOOD, NJ) -- Progressive Theater presents The View UpStairs by Max Vernon on June 25-26 at 7:30 at The Woodland in Maplewood. This musical takes a fictional approach to the 1973 arson attack on a gay club in New Orleans called the Up Stairs Lounge.

American Theater Group Presents "The Bridges Of Madison County" Concerts on June 25-26

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) --  The American Theater Group (ATG), Somerset County’s newest professional theater company, presents a weekend of encore concerts of its critically acclaimed 2019 production of The Bridges of Madison County, live at the Pleasant Valley Park amphitheater in Basking Ridge. The free outdoor events, held on Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26 at 8:00pm, will feature the entire cast of the original ATG production and the full Tony award-winning orchestration played by Broadway musicians.

George Street Playhouse Offers Free One-Day Acting Workshop On June 26

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse welcomes students ages 5 thru 18 to participate in a free one-day only acting workshop for budding artists on Saturday, June 26 from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Laiona Michelle, Artistic Associate at George Street Playhouse, award-winning actress and playwright will lead workshops with the students.  

"Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery" at Middletown Arts Center

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) --  The Middletown Arts Center, in collaboration with the Dunbar Repertory Company, presents Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery, a magical memory play featuring songs and stories that follow a young Black girl’s coming of age in the 1960’s South. Written by Shay Youngblood and directed by Darrell Lawrence Willis, Sr., the production begins July 9th and runs through July 18th on the MAC’s Open Air Stage.

"A Good Day -- songs from musicals by Eric Sirota" To Take Place July 24 In Union City

(UNION CITY, NJ) -- The Park Theatre and Write Act Repertory, under the artistic leadership of John Lant and Tamra Pica present “A Good Day – songs from musicals by Eric Sirota” on Saturday, July 24 at 2:00pm as a part of Union City’s free outdoor concert series. The performance will be at Ellsworth Park in Union City, NJ, in association with Mayor Brian Stack and the Union City Board of Commissioners, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
