(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theatre Center (JCTC) brings two leading New Jersey dance companies together on Sunday, November 18 at 4:00pm, for an “Up Close & Personal” afternoon of unique and engaging performances at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. In a rare double-bill, the historic, restored venue hosts JCTC Dance: Carolyn Dorfman Dance and Hillary-Marie’s Sole Music Collective. This exclusive pairing features two award winning and internationally acclaimed artists – Carolyn Dorfman, artistic director of Carolyn Dorfman Dance, New Jersey’s premiere modern dance company and Hillary-Marie, a world-renowned tap dance artist and founder of Jersey Tap Fest.... (HIGHLAND PARK, NJ) -- 10 Hairy Legs will provide the Dance to Learn program to all second grade students at iPrep Academy and George Washington School #1 in Elizabeth, NJ in Fall 2018. The Creative Movement Residency includes 14 consecutive weekly classes during the school day taught to 100 students by 10 Hairy Legs Teaching Artist Shawn Brush. Brush works actively as a professional dancer as well as a Teaching Artist. Brush graduated Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University earning BFA’s in Dance. The professional company will perform at Jerome Dunn Academy on Thursday, December ­­20 at 9:30am with students participating in the program. The performance is free and open to the community.... (NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents a Nutcracker Weekend two very different takes on the classic production.  The weekend begins with the Hip Hop Nutcracker on December 14 at 8:00pm and closes with The Nutcracker: National Ballet Theatre of Odessa on Sunday, December 16 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.  Each year, The Nutcracker brings family and friends together for an annual tradition in celebrating the magic of the holiday season.... The Mai Tai, Martini, Manhattan and more come to life in this electrifying cabaret-style engagement, which features live music performed by the company’s own B-Twist Orchestra, an ensemble of internationally acclaimed musicians. (UNION, NJ) -- Carolyn Dorfman Dance, a premiere modern dance company based in New Jersey and New York City, will celebrate a remarkable 36 years of bold and powerful dancing making and performance with their 2018-19 Season. The highlights this year include a performance at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City in November, an appearance at the Dance Union Festival in Rahway in early February, and the company’s annual appearance at NJPAC in April....
