
(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Friday, April 10, 2026 at 7:30pm, Westminster Conservatory of Rider University will present a faculty recital to honor the memory of Galina Prilutskaya, a long-time member of the Conservatory's piano faculty who died on October 11, 2025. The recital will take place in Hillman Performance Hall in the Marion Buckelew Cullen Music Center (101 Walnut Lane) in Princeton. The recital is open to the public free of charge.
The performers include three of her former students and many of her colleagues from the Conservatory, including flutists Katherine McClure and Kevin Willois, oboist Melissa Bohl, cellist Ruth Ochs, and pianists Ena Barton, Clipper Erickson, Inessa Gleyzerova, Theodore Hendricks-Verdejo, Patricia Landy, Phyllis Lehrer, Elena Panova, and Esma Pasic-Filipovic. Composers represented on the program include J.S. Bach, Chopin, Edward German, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Joel Phillips, Rachmaninoff, and Robert Schumann.
Prilutskaya, a native of Moscow, joined the Westminster Conservatory faculty in 1992. Both her colleagues and students cherished her generosity, kindness, and inspiring love of music. She not only taught private piano lessons, but also was an active chamber music coach and an avid participant in faculty recitals. In addition she maintained an extensive private studio, was active in the New Jersey Music Teachers Association, and frequently served as an adjudicator.
Established in 1970, Westminster Conservatory of Music is the community music school of Rider University. Welcoming young musicians of all ages, skill levels, instrument preferences and economic backgrounds, Westminster Conservatory provides focused one-on-one lessons. In addition, the Conservatory offers a wide range of classes and performing ensembles to engage every student, from the beginner to young maestros, regardless of age.
