(WESTFIELD, NJ) -- Westfield Community Players (WCP) closes out its season with The 39 Steps, A full-length comedy spoof, adapted by Patrick Barlow, from the novel by John Buchan City and the Alfred Hitchcock movie. Performances run on select days across two weekends (May 13 to May 27). In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered.
Soon, a mysterious organization called The 39 Steps is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale! A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure!
The cast consists of four actors but portray over 50 characters!! Tim McGovern plays Richard Hannay, the subject of the play, Sherilyn James portrays Annabella, Margaret and Pamela, Rachelle Mandik and Andrew Weinstein play Clown #1 and Clown #2 (which consists of many, many other characters.
Performances take place May 13, 20, 26, 27 @ 8:00pm; and May 21 @ 2:00pm - Matinee. Tickets are $25 and available for purchase or through the Box Office at (908) 232-1221. Performances take place at 1000 North Avenue West in Westfield, New Jersey.
