Having been a fan of her music since the beginning, every time she stopped in New Jersey, I had a conflict. 4) Mayor Baraka Announces Technical Assistance Program for Creative Spaces - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced on July 1, 2024 that the City of Newark Division of Arts and Cultural Affairs is accepting applications for the Creative Space Accelerator, a technical assistance program supporting arts and cultural organizations undertaking capital projects related to their facilities and creative spaces. Five organizations will be selected to receive six months of training workshops and one-on-one consultations led by Artspace Consulting, a nonprofit organization specializing in artist-led community development.

5) Mercer County's $5 Friday Summer Concerts are Back! - (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Central Jersey families don't need to head to the shore in order to have a great time this summer. The Mercer County Park Commission's $5 Friday Summer Concert Series promises memorable experiences for residents of all ages.

Christine Aschwald, Heather Braun, Eleanor Lear, Jennifer Markovitz, and Greg Vargas will officially begin their terms in November 2024, and their tenures will run through 2027.

11) New Jersey Symphony concert at Liberty State Park TODAY moved indoors due to inclement weather - (NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Symphony's Summer Outdoor Concert at Liberty State Park in Jersey City today (Sunday, June 30, 2024) will move indoors due to inclement weather. The indoor air-conditioned location will be Margaret Williams Theatre at Hepburn Hall, Center for the Arts at New Jersey City University, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ. Showtime is 7:30pm.

12) Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats" comes to Algonquin Arts Theatre in July - (MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre presents Cats from July 13-28, 2024. The classic musical features Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. 13) Chris Pinnella + 10-Piece Orchestra set Encore Performance in Asbury Park on August 16th - (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Join Chris Pinnella (former lead singer with Trans-Siberian Orchestra) along with his killer 10-Piece Orchestra as they bring you reimagined interpretations from some of the most prolific bands and songwriters of the last century. Pinnella and company have added an encore performance on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Tim McLoone's Supper Club in Asbury Park. Showtime is 8:00pm.

15) Bergen County Announces Return of Summer Movies & Concerts in the Park - Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, and the County Parks Department announce the return of the Bergen County Movies and Music in the Park Summer Series. The series will feature 24 events at four locations across Bergen County beginning on July 10, 2024. All concerts and movies are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for viewing.
