Friday, December 27 - Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Two Shows with Steve Forbert. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents two nights of Steve Forbert on December 27-28, 2024. Forbert is a true American treasure, a fact underscored by his 21st album, Daylight Savings Time, released earlier this year.

Saturday, December 28 - NBPAC presents The Great American SoulBook. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Great American SoulBook delivers a journey through the decades of Motown, R&B and other iconic soulful music that inspired generations. This is no oldies show. It is a high-energy tribute that highlights the music that made us groove, made us move, and filled dance floors and concert halls in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. Saturday, December 28 - Gregory Burrus Productions presents Carrie Jackson & Friends Pre-New Years Eve Jam. (SHORT HILLS, NJ) -- Looking for a fun and exciting way to celebrate the upcoming New Year? Look no further than the Pre-New Year's Eve Jam at Par 440 on Saturday, December 28, 2024! This event featuring Carrie Jackson & Friends promises to be a night to remember, filled with live music, great food, and a lively atmosphere.

Sunday, December 29 - Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Popa Chubby. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room will close out 2024 on Sunday, December 29th with the return of Popa Chubby - a musician who has been hard rocking the blues in his fierce and soulful way for more than 30 years. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.

Tuesday, December 31 - Just a note that Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes annual New Year's Eve show at Count Basie Center for the Arts was cancelled upon news that due to health issues, Southside has retired from touring effective immediately.  For more on that news, click here

2024 Montclair Jazz Festival to be Broadcast on SiriusXM Real Jazz on New Year's Day  (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- On January 1, 2025, SiriusXM's Real Jazz will broadcast the 2024 Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree. Produced by Jazz House Kids, the 15th annual Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree took place on September 14, 2024, setting a new attendance record of 26,000 music fans in Downtown Montclair, New Jersey.

Princeton Public Library hosts PSO Soundtracks Talk: A Symphony Celebration  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents a very special Soundtracks talk, "A Symphony Celebration", on Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at the Princeton Public Library. Edward T. Cone Music Director Rossen Milanov and former Executive Director Melanie Clarke look back at some of their favorite moments together on and off stage as they mark the Maestro's 60th birthday. Showtime is 7:00pm.

An Interview with Al Schnier from moe.

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Buffalo, NY based band, moe. will perform at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. Then on Friday, February 28 and again on Saturday, March 1, moe. will head to Philadelphia, PA to perform two nights at Brooklyn Bowl. These shows are part of their winter tour celebrating the release of their new album, "Circle of Giants". I was able to speak with Al Schnier from moe. in anticipation of these shows.

Jersey Arts Podcast: New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Puts the 'Tunes' in 'Looney Tunes'

35 years ago–well before orchestras performing film scores became popular–George Daugherty and his husband and producing partner David Wong developed Bugs Bunny at the Symphony. The concept was new at the time: a world-class orchestra would play full cartoon scores live alongside the films. It was an instant hit.

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Symphony announced that Lina González-Granados will conduct alongside Vadim Gluzman as he performs Johannes Brahms' Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77. Performances will take place in New Brunswick, Red Bank, and Newark.
