
(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Big Apple Comedy Club #65 on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 8:00pm. The lineup includes Wali Collins, Wayne Cotter, Kyle Dunnigan and Erin Maguire.
Wali Collins is one of New York City’s top comedians. Originally from Springfield, MA, Wali started doing stand-up in the late 80’s and moved up the ranks very quickly. After being nominated three years in a row as “College Campus Entertainer of the Year,” Wali moved to New York City to become host of Comedy Central’s “Standup Stand-up.” From there, Collins has piled up some very impressive credits including appearances on HBO, ABC’s “The View,” Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd,” Commentary on VH-1, to name a very few.
David Letterman caught Wali’s act and recruited him to warm-up for his show. Later that season Wali was a featured performer on the “Late Show with David Letterman.” What about acting? Wali’s landed a roles in many movies including Jerry Brucheimer’s film “Coyote Ugly.” Wali also was featured in the hit sitcom “Spin City,” and Comedy Central’s “Chappelle Show.” He’s the host of the new PBS series special, ”Wild TV.” If Wali’s face looks familiar to you it’s because you’ve seen him in endless amount of national television commercials. In the words of Robert Klein, “Wali Collins is versatile, smart and very, very funny. Wali is headed only one way, Stardom.”
Wayne Cotter is known as a top nationally touring comedian, a favorite of the talk shows, a veteran of two network shows of his own, and has been recognized as a "Best Standup Comedian” nominee in the American Comedy Awards. Although he studied Electrical Engineering at the U Penn and began a career with a NJ computer company, before long Wayne started moonlighting as a Philadelphia comedian. Almost immediately, he became a frequent guest of Jay Leno and David Letterman and a fixture on the national comedy circuit.
Wayne was also honored to be one of the last new comedians to debut with Johnny Carson and appeared on his last two anniversary specials. He became a familiar face on television and ultimately the host David Letterman called him “one of our favorites.” Wayne continues to perform in clubs and theaters across the country. Kyle Dunnigan is an Emmy, Peabody and Writer’s Guild Award winning comedy writer. In front of the camera, Kyle recently starred in the Jerry Seinfeld movie "Unfrosted" as both Johnny Carson and Walter Cronkite, along with a new cartoon series starring Adam Carolla. Kyle can also be heard regularly on the Howard Stern Show and the Adam Carolla Podcast, doing various impressions. Kyle has a significant online presence with over 1.3 million followers and was featured in The New York Times “Best Comedy of 2018.”
Kyle starred in several sketches on the hit Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer.” He also recurred on “Reno 911” as Craig a.k.a The Truckee River Killer, and worked as a series regular and writer on FOX’s “Cedric the Entertainer Presents.” As a standup comic Kyle has had his own Half Hour Special on Comedy Central and has appeared on Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Seth Meyers, Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson along with numerous festival performances including SF Sketch Fest, Montreal and Chicago Just For Laughs Festivals.
New York City based stand-up/actor/writer and podcast host Erin Maguire is a originally from Arlington, MA where he humor was hugely influenced by her blue collar family and Boston roots. You gotta be funny to survive around Boston firefighters. Erin's debut comedy album BASELINE PRESENTABLE debuted at number one on iTunes comedy charts and is now racking up views on YouTube as well. Erin has been featured on SiriusXM, The Tamron Hall Show, Gotham Live, ESPN and The Game Show Network as well as writing for Comedy Central Roasts.
She was featured in the prestigious Lucille Ball Comedy Festival for the grand opening of the National Comedy Center. She's also been a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, won the Woodstock Comedy Festival and was the first female to win Mohegan Sun's 'Last Comix Standing.” Erin recently made her network TV debut slaying it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. There may be other Erin Maguires out there, but there's only one fiery, redheaded comedy pistol. That's this one.
