Star Royale Theatre to Hold Auditions for Monty Python's Spamalot

originally published: 12/27/2022

(POMPTON LAKES, NJ) -- Star Royale Theatre (Formerly Rhino Theatre) will hold auditions for Monty Python's Spamalot on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. This audition is open for all adults ages 18 and older. All roles are open for this production. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on February 16th.

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

The Director for the production is Kurt Stelzenmueller and the Choreographer is Terese Opiela.

For auditions, please ensure you do your due diligence and be familiar with the show, characters, and content prior to your audition. Come prepared a 16-32 bar cut of a comedic song in the style of the show or from the show. Sides will be provided at the discretion of the director.

Note: Video submissions will be accepted if unavailable for audition date only. We would prefer to see all those auditioning in person for chemistry tests as needed and director sides. If you would like to submit a video for your audition, please submit a 16-32 bar cut of a song from the show or from a song that reflects the era of this show, as well as a headshot and resume (if you have one). Submit auditions to [email protected] no later than 11:59pm on February 15, 2023.
