(CAMDEN, NJ) -- South Camden Theatre Company presents Chicken & Biscuits by Douglas Lyons across three weekends from May 8-24, 2026. This is a story that explores love, family, and the families we choose, reminding us all of the resilience and unity at the heart of our community.
This acclaimed play poses a poignant question: Can sisters Baneatta and Beverly lay their father to rest without tearing each other apart? As the family gathers at St. Luke’s Church to honor their patriarch, Bernard Jenkins, old tensions and unexpected revelations spark laughter and tears alike.

Chicken & Biscuits boldly reminds us that LOVE is LOVE, and that hope and connection can be found even in our darkest moments. With warmth and wit, the play pays tribute to all the families we choose and cherish.
Join them as they proudly celebrate Juneteenth and Gay Pride Month with the highly anticipated opening of a powerful new production. In a world marked by uncertainty and daily challenges, laughter is not just welcome—it is vital.
