
(HILLSBOROUGH, NJ) -- Somerset Valley Players presents Inspecting Carol by Daniel J. Sullivan across three weekends from April 17 to May 3, 2026. Holiday cheer meets theatrical chaos in this riotous backstage comedy! As a struggling theatre company scrambles to mount its annual production of A Christmas Carol, everything that can go wrong absolutely does.
Rehearsals unravel, egos flare, and a case of mistaken identity sends the cast into full‑blown panic. Packed with slapstick, satire, and festive mayhem, Inspecting Carol is a laugh‑out‑loud holiday treat for anyone who's ever been part of — or simply loved — live theatre.
The cast includes Kevern Cameron (Larry Vauxhall), Dawn Cimilluca (Dorothy Tree-Hapgood), Fred Cooper (Luther Beatty), Mike Johnson (Phil Hewlitt), Cindy Magalio (Betty Andrews), Robyn Mandalakis (M.J. McMann), Rink Patel (Walter E. Parsons), Stacie Renz (Zorah Bloch), Sam Tonn (Bart Frances), Mark Shifton (Wayne Wellacre), David Wiiliams (Kevin Emery), and Joe Zedeny (Sidney Carlton.
The production team includes Raymond Shinn as Producer; Gillian Velmer as Assistant Producer; Holly J. Kowalenko as Director; Shannen Rivers as Stage Manager; Shayne Heluk as Set Designer; Brent Kowalenko as Lighting & Sound; Kristin Clapcich as Props; Sam Tonn as Costumes; and Roberta Steve as Set Dressing.
Performances take place Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm; and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 689 Amwell Road (Rte 514) in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
