(WAYNE, NJ) -- Shea Center for Performing Arts presents Benny Benack with the Big Beat Big Band on July 23, 2024 at 7:30pm. The well-known singer and trumpeter Benny Benack III will team up with a wonderful big band, Big Beat.
Formidable as both an instrumentalist and singer, Benack is a leading voice in jazz for his generation, headlining clubs and festivals around the world on the heels of his critically acclaimed album Third Time’s the Charm. His global recognition has been bolstered by live-streaming concerts of a weekly residency at Smalls Jazz Club and frequent appearances at fellow young lion Emmet Cohen’s “Emmet’s Place” series.
Trombonist, arranger, and band leader Caleb Rumley and singer Allison McKenzie, partners in life, have been making music with the Big Beat Big Band since 2014, and their band has become a regular mainstay of Summer Jazz Room programs. Don’t miss this one, it will be a powerhouse event!

The Shea Center for Performing Arts is located on the campus of William Paterson University (300 Pompton Road) in Wayne, New Jersey. The Shea Center for Performing Arts is an intimate 922-seat theater built in 1965. The theater boasts a customized, state-of-the-art sound system, computerized lighting system and a unique seating/stage configuration that ensures a close performer/audience connection.
