For over 50 years, Pushcart Players has been delighting young audiences with award-winning, professional touring theater—designed just for kids! Twice nominated for an Emmy, and recognized nationally for excellence in arts education, they bring vibrant, engaging musical theater productions, workshops, and residencies to schools and theaters nationwide.
A Pushcart assembly program is: a turnkey experience (they bring the sets, costumes, and professional actors—you bring the kids!), engaging & interactive (children laugh, learn, and participate in every performance), and ADA Accessible (Pushcart assists in providing services to make theater available to everyone!).

OUTTA' THIS WORLD: THE ADVENTURES OF KALIEN THE ALIEN (October 2025 - May 2026). What happens when an alien mistakenly lands on Earth? A rockin’ adventure in kindness, acceptance, and respecting our planet! This lively rock musical helps kids understand that while we may look different on the outside, inside, we’re all the same. (Grades PreK-5)
CUENTOS DEL ÁRBOL (TREE TALES) (Mid-September 2025 - May 2026). A bilingual celebration of Spanish and Latin American folklore! Join Arbolita, the guardian of a magical tree, as she shares timeless tales filled with wisdom, humor, and heart. With lively music, colorful characters, and a grand fiesta finale, this show will leave audiences dancing, clapping, and loving every word—whether they’re Spanish speakers or just learning! (Grades PreK-5)
LIFT EVERY VOICE: A LETTER TO THE EDITOR (February - June 2026). Travel back to the Civil Rights Movement and follow 12-year-old Junebug, who bravely takes a stand against injustice. With multimedia elements, powerful storytelling, and historic touchstones like the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Freedom Fighters, this play is an unforgettable lesson in courage, compassion, and change. (Grades 4-8)
A SEASON OF MIRACLES (November - December 2025). The spirit of the holidays comes alive in this joyous, multicultural celebration! From O. Henry’s "Gift of the Magi", to a magical retelling of "The Nutcracker," and the heartwarming stories of Kwanzaa and Chanukah, this show is filled with music, wonder, and holiday cheer. (Grades PreK-5)
STONE SOUP…and other stories (September 2025 - June 2026). Four delightful folktales from around the world in one engaging hour! Kids will discover the joy of reading through stories of friendship, sharing, and acceptance—all wrapped in a dynamic, musical, interactive experience. A must-see for literacy lovers and budding bookworms! (Grades PreK-5)

Founded in 1974, Pushcart Players is a not-for-profit, professional touring theater company specializing in arts education and productions for young audiences. The company has performed nationally and has been recognized with numerous awards for excellence in theater and education. Pushcart brings substantive musical theater, workshops, and residencies to young people and their families in schools and theaters throughout the country.
The repertory company addresses social studies, literature, history, special educational needs, social-emotional learning, and values clarification for young people, their families, and their educators. All performances by professional artists (Actors’ Equity Association) are supported by study guides, post-performance assessments, and other supplemental materials. Pushcart adapts to any location with innovative scenery, lighting, and sound systems.
