(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Two famous natives of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens have rich histories and face potential challenges. Hear about them during “Blueberry and Cranberry Farming in South Jersey” on Monday, August 29 at 6:30pm. It takes place at the Ocean County Library Tuckerton Branch.
Rutgers University Professor Peter V. Oudemans, Director of the school’s Marcucci Blueberry and Cranberry Research and Extension Center, will offer his perspectives about their cultivation and evolution.
Professor Oudemans will discuss technologies aimed at improving productivity of these vital agricultural components, and the potential effects of soil health, climate change and invasive species on their survival.
Registration at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events is required to attend this free program. For more information, visit the Branch at 380 Bay Avenue, Tuckerton, or call (609) 296-1470
