(NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Arts is proud to announce the launch of the Newark Arts Community Grant (NACG), aimed at providing essential financial support to individual artists residing in Newark, New Jersey.
The Newark Arts Community Grant is a need-based mini-grant program offering individual artists the opportunity to receive a $1,000 grant to support their artistic endeavors. The program is designed to promote the vibrant and diverse creative community within Newark and is made possible through generous funding provided by the New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund.
The application period for the NACG will open on November 1, at 12:00 noon, and will run until November 10, at 11:59pm. It is vital for applicants to meet the residency criteria and demonstrate their clear residential status within Newark to be eligible for consideration. The first 20 qualifying applications received during the open-application period will be awarded grants, so early submissions are encouraged.
“We applaud the New Jersey Arts & Culture Renewal Fund for recognizing that the disparities that were unearthed during the pandemic, continue to affect hundreds if not thousands of individual artists,” said Lauren LeBeaux Craig, Interim Executive Director Newark Arts. “This NJACRF partnership enables Newark Arts to re-grant awards to artists who need support to continue their artistic practice. In turn, their work enriches our community at-large.”
Newark Arts is deeply committed to nurturing the artistic talents of Newark's community, and the Newark Arts Community Grant is one of the many ways the organization works towards this goal. The NACG not only provides financial support but also seeks to celebrate and encourage the rich tapestry of artistic expression in the city.
