New York Greek Film Expo comes to Fort Lee

Screenings at Barrymore Film Center

(FORT LEE, NJ) -- The New York Greek Film Expo, a Greek film festival for all New Yorkers, moves to New Jersey, with screenings at the Barrymore Film Center on October 7-8, 2025. The annual Expo, presented by Hellenic Film Society USA (HFS), opened on October 2 and runs through October 12. All films are in Greek with English subtitles.

Screenings take place at 7:30pm on both nights. The Barrymore Film Center is located at 153 Main Street in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7 @ 7:30pm - LITTLE ENGLAND (2013), directed by Pantelis Voulgaris; screenplay by Ioanna Karystiani based on her acclaimed novel The Jasmine Isle. It’s a story of passion, family and loss, as two sisters are divided due to their love for the same man.

The Hollywood Reporter called Little England, "...a woman’s picture in the most positive sense of the word...impeccably acted...the trio of female protagonists is never less than mesmerizing...."

WINNER Hellenic Film Academy Award for Best Picture. Co-presented with NYWIFT, New York Women in Film & Television Followed by an audience Q&A with lead actor Andreas Konstantinou.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8 - MEAT (2024), directed and written by Dimitris Nakos. When a young man commits murder, his father goes to extremes to shield him from prosecution and conviction. Mature audiences only – nudity, adult situations.

After, the New York Greek Film Expo moves the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria on October 10- 12 for a special retrospective of the work of master filmmaker, Pantelis Voulgaris.
