Monmouth County Officials hosted meeting with local historians to prepare for America

The MonmouthNJ 250 Truck, at Hominy Hill Golf Center, will attend parades, fairs, festivals and other special events throughout Monmouth County to generate awareness and create excitement!

(COLTS NECK, NJ) -- The MonmouthNJ 250 Committee hosted a meeting with local historians on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Hominy Hill Golf Center in Colts Neck, NJ. The purpose of the meeting was to share the county's vision, strategy and planning to prepare for America’s upcoming 250th birthday in 2026, and ways that historians and historical groups from throughout Monmouth County can participate in this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, Esq. serve as Chair and Co-Chair respectively of the MonmouthNJ 250 Committee.

“Crucial to our work is sharing updates, ideas and information with the local historical groups and organizations,” said Committee Chair, Clerk Christine G. Hanlon. “Like America’s Bicentennial celebration in 1976, we encourage local organizations and groups to participate in the celebration of this historic milestone.”

“It was great to discuss the many exciting events and plans for commemorating America's upcoming 250th birthday with historians and historical groups from throughout Monmouth County!” said Committee Co-Chair, Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Together, we will celebrate not only the birth of the greatest nation in the world, but the significant role our county played in the fight for independence."
