“Whiskey & Wine walks that perfect line between what was, what is, and what might yet be…scintillating sonic salvo” -- The Big Takeover
Along with the EP the band premieres the video for the title track “Whiskey & Wine”, a stop-motion juggernaut directed by award-winning creative and animator Rohitash Rao.
Mirrors On The Moon is singer/guitar/songwriter Donny Dykowsky with Freddy Pastore on bass (Chesterwhite), John Hummel on drums (Lady Gaga), Dave Archer on keys (UNI and the Urchins) with backing vocals by Emily MacMahon.
Leading to the EP the band released the songs and videos for “Get Lost” and “Don’t Panic” which quickly garnered over 60k streams on Spotify. With “Get Lost” garnering airplay on Spotify playlists, Rocking Guitars, Cool Rock Collection, and The Rock Cave, and “Don’t Panic” on Rock Anthems, Rock Arena, and Rock Up.
“a sing-along chorus and a melody which transports you back to the era of albums like Ziggy Stardust” -- Folk N Rock
On the EP you will find the title track “Whiskey & Wine” where Dykowsky’s delivers a mix of alt-country and new classic rock, as lyrical hints of Alan Watts philosophy drip through. Elsewhere, “Marigolds” delivers a prog-rock feel taking place during Dia de los Muertos. A syncopated bluesy riff sets the stage for lyrics of information overload, faith, and Douglas Adam’s theory that “life is wasted on the living”. While “Waking Up” is a sweet reminder that nothing is ever lost, if we allow ourselves to believe that time isn’t linear, the moment is never gone. The chorus repeats the word Om - a sacred mantra that is believed to be the primordial sound that created the universe.
Mirrors on the Moon is currently working on a new collection of songs to be released in 2024.
